Headers?

Got the Wagner setup with high flow cats. I love it.. well built.. solid.. clean... FITS! And in my opinion really allows the car to breath.
I had them on my old ES and just got them on today on the MP3. Have to say low end was marginally improved... power kicks in, it seemed, a little earlier.... and the car really started to pull after 4000RPM. Anxious to drive with the setup on the MP3 tomorrow.
It is expensive yes, but in my opinion worth it.
Side note on OBX header... the downpipe opening is tiny compared (don't remember what size exactly, but it is smaller ... almost stock size) to the wagner downpipe which is 2.5".

a key to getting the better header is that the obx as well as other cheaper headers are 4-1 headers while awr header is a 4-2-1. i had a awr and you can prolly get one used for $250 range (just sold mine for that much). it will give you power earlier in the rpms than an obx. they are expensive but damn worth it if you stay n/a.
glad you liked it. looks great under the hood. did you find new wrap or is that the stuff i had on it?

so how much more whp do you get with the awr then the obx? im getting ready to get a header so i wanted to know what is best. And where could i find a used awr for cheap but good condition?

i have driven cars with both the obx and the awr and personally feel no difference between the two cars.
ask around on the forum. someone is bound to be sellin thiers soon. its prolly a 3-5hp difference. the header alone doesn't add but 8-12hp i think.flipmode815 said:

i actually do have a discount agreement with AWR and hope you weren't seriously accusing me of bias.
the AWR retails for twice what an OBX does. if a customer of mine really wishes to pay double the price for a different collector and a marginal (at best) horsepower difference, i'm not going to stop them. i do feel that the price difference is not justified by end performance.

how much is your obx? I want to order today if the price is right, its my b-day today so i have some extra money to put into my car.
oh well yeah, i would never buy a new awr header, only a used one. the extra $200 isn't worth the few hp it gives.Captain KRM P5 said:
