Hi all:

My name is Nacho.
I come from Spain.

I have been looking for some headers or manifolds on the net but I haven' founded a lot.
It is very difficult.

I have founded HotPipes Headers, but I can't buy it in the net, in the page there is no option.

Have ou ever seen one of them?
I know there are some custom headers, but in my city is impossible to do it.

Do you know a exhaust garage where I can buy it?

Thank you very much (jerkit)

I apoligised for the (jerkit) ;-)
I didn't realized about it :-(

I'll be getting one soon , after testing and all necessary paperwork, probably I'll be selling them.

Roughly $340 USD for a price isnt too bad. I thought I saw a Mazda 2 in their banner scrolling add too that is here on the forum.

Good spot on the 2 in the banner, has to be Matrixxx.
Very good price and would be interested in getting hold of someone on the site to get a quote.

If anyone gets anywhere with this I would love to hear about it.

Hi all again:

I have written to them, but they haven't answered.
I can't buy the headers on their web. There isn't a buttom to "Add to basket" or something similar.

And there isn't anther place to buy :-(

Some help?
Another possibilities?

Thank you guys.

I have been searching for a long time for some headers for the Mazda2. I like these headers but I noticed in the picture from the link that the headers don't have a high flow catalyst. I don't know if my car would pass my states emissions check (Ohio) if I installed these headers.

Otherwise they look like they are well built from a reputable company.

They don't have catalyst.
You won't pass your state emissions check because are the emissions from the engine directly.

You will have to quit the headers before the check.

I know it. In my country is the same.
If you want a headers with a high flow catalyst you should check the Thunder Muffler header.

I think is better the HotPipes Headers because there is no "plug" to the exhaust gas, but the bad reason is that you won't pass the emissions check.

I have had another car with headers and I changed the headers before the check. It is not correct, but it's a good way to get out the emissions fast of your car and the RPM increase faster.

Sorry for my english ;-)

Got a quote for this, $340 and another $100 shipped to the UK. Emailed me back pretty quick about it too.

Now I just need some money.

Hi Nacho,

It depends upon how your country/province/state does emission testing. Where I live, it is based upon whether or not your ECU has any codes showing or pending.

In my case I can do a header and add a high flow cat after the header and as long as no codes are thrown, it is OK. Some places only do a visual. Some places stick an emissions sensor up the exhaust pipe. Etc, etc, etc.....

YMMV......

Hi Racebrewer:

In Spain they stick an emissions sensor up the exhaust pipe. They put the car at 3000 rpm and in the "idle" position.
And it's very easy not to pass the test.

In Spain is very difficult to modify the engine.

Perhaps I have been too many "confident".
It depends on the country, you are right Racebrewer.

Thank you.

PD: Sorry for my english, I try to do my best ;-)

You can probably still do an air intake, exhaust after the catalytic converter, lightweight pulleys and when available a lightweight flywheel. Probably 10-12 horsepower more and faster acceleration.

Next step would be lighter tires and wheels. Lightweight parts on the car. Remove back seat.

There is an Italian company (Piasani ?) that re-flashs the ECU. Not sure how that would work with an emissions sensor.

The Thunder Muffler header looks good but I've read that there's something that keeps it from fitting our US Mazda 2. Does anyone have more info on this?

I dont see the extra O2 bung for after the cat in the picture of the thunder header. That might be the fitment problem.

I don't know.......

That header/cat (cat/header ? ? ?) looks wrong to me. In so many ways.......

There doesn't appear to be anything "tuned" in the length of the primary tubes. The right angle turn out of the bottom. It also appears designed to hook up to a stock exhaust which is usually another compromise.

The second O2 bung should be an easy fix.

Better than nothing........ just not as good as it could be.

Yah, I know.... I'm a whiner.....

Lol, I think it is more of a case you know what you want. That ECU tuning place in Texas built a nice long tube header. You could add a cat and run an O2 extension harness to keep the CEL off and get the best of both worlds.

from my understanding the mz2 cat is attached to the stock manifold, the flange for cat to the exhaust is the small piece thats missing. so if u add a cherrybomb/glasspack and that flange it should be fine.
