Headers for ur MP3?

Folks 'round these parts are used to the OBX and Tsudo headers...lots cheaper.
I'm lucky to sell one of these a year.

Well from what I've seen, yours look the best so far. Expect an order from me once my MP3 is in the drive.

Just finished installing the headers. Was a workout to take off the old stock stuff and put in the new ones. Did the non-fouler fix, so hopefully my check engine light won't come on. Didn't notice a HUGE improvement in HP. I was expecting way more zooom, zooom!!!!!! (outie)
 
Not alot of power to be tapped into NA with these engine without serious mods to support it.

Yea, I think turbo is the only option if you want serious power. Thank God I didn't spend $$300 on headers. I would of been soooo pissed! For what I paid, $75 bucks, I'm happy camper.
 
Here's what I did notice with my new headers.

There constant more power overall. I don't have to floor the pedal if I want to get moving quickly on the road as I did before. It took another drive around town to notice this difference.

There isn't going to be. In fact, you'll lose low end torque with a long tube header but gain top end power. That's why I went the short header route. With gutting the cat it's basically the same, but it creates more back pressure so you don't lose the low end torque. If you look at the stock manifold you'll see the is on outlet that is really crempt. The header fixes that and that's were you get the power gain. Maybe 3hp on a N/A car. On a N/A car, the best bang for you buck is a C/A intake, short shifter and a 7lb flywheel. You'd be surprised at the amount of power you get by dropping 15 lbs off the rotating assembly. If you can get a MP3 ecu or buy a stand alone that would really help.

You actually have it backwards.

4-1 header loses torque and provides better mid-top end range power
(Gains are more noticeable in the Mid-top end range)

4-2-1 header Provides better low-mid range power.
(Gains are more noticeable in the Mid-low end range)

i believe it has to be a year 2000 and above 626 mani. but yes, it does increase air flow resulting in more ponies. there's lots more info about this in that search button on the top bar, third from the right inwards.
 
im new to all of this, what is this no fouler that i keep reading about? i have a header in sight that i may get in the next month (also may need a hand in getting them installed since i dont have a place at the apartment to work on the car) and need to be able to pass emissions/inspection here in VA
 
vampyrate, you get me a RB axle back or the mazdaspeed protege5 axle back and i'll give you my header with the non fowler already done and installed and i know it works properly
 
haha, i was just about to order an axleback from protege garage, so i just may order 2 lol
 
well once i get settled into my new place mid month in may i may be down for this trade actually. PM me cause we shouldnt be talking about a trade on a non trade forum lol
