So I just installed a brand new set of hawk hps' in the front and got the rotors shaved, but the brakes don't feel as responsive anymore.... WTF!! I have no idea why either, maybe they have to get worn in a little...??? Does anyone have any input.?

Did u break them in correctly it has specific instructions on how to bed in the new pads I have these pads on my MSP and I like them a lot

Break-in as follow. Hard breaking from 45-5mph 2 times, 55-5mph 2 times, and 60-5mph 4-5 times. This is most common on how we do it in the miata community. Doing this allows for proper bed-in of the pad and rotor. not sure if this is the same for the MS3 tho. Anyone have input? I love bedding in pads. So much fun.

Re-bleed your brakes...it might not be the pads...

To piggy-back on this, the mushyness isn't the pads. Usually caused by air in the brake hydraulic system or boiling of brake fluid. Bleed your brakes and then tell us what happens.

+1 on air in the brake system

also if not bed properly it may take a long time before it is.
