The light has came out again after 150 miles. I am afraid that tomorrow it is not there, so these stupid mechanics will not be able to see the code. I dont like this things in a new car. I guess this is my first and last mazda.

I can not understand that this people do not handle the problem properly in its most powerful car. I just can not understand.

If the light comes on and then goes off again, it is still stored in the computer memory unless you disconnect the battery. Even if the light has gone off, they can scan it out. Make 'em fix it, whatever it is.

I know they should... but they just tell me that nothing comes out when they scan. Tomorrow morning I will insist, but they are asking me to arrive with light on, which you can imagine is difficult...

Unacceptable!!! I went in to my dealership without my CEL on and they were able to scan the computer and pull up the P2006 codes. The replacement part was ordered that same day and my car was fixed 2 days later. You need to insist HARDER!

Good Luck!

This morning I was "lucky", and I got the light going out from the house. I inmediately went to the shop, and finally we got the P2006.

By the way, the guy was amazed: he was switching the car and I said "I bet you whatever you want that you get a P2006". He could not belive that I guessed it.

I have tried to explain them that this problem is already known in US and Canada, and I even gave him the reference for the new part. They have to investigate, and lets see. They say that they have to try to arrange it on their own before call Mazda (protocol, you know). They would save monney if they follow my advise, but... (yawn)

I can not understand that Mazda is selling this car in the whole Europe without correcting this problem. Simply unacceptable, dont you agree?

I am thinking about write Mazda Spain about this.

Thank you to all of you , and to the FORUM. Ill tell you about the end of this story.

OT: Shouldn't this go into the new CEL subforum?
/OT

Just one at 250 for a stupid loose 02 sensor connector. Otherwise, purrdyyy.

I had CEL when it was about 2.5k miles. code is P2006, the problem of stock CAI. i got fixed just right after it lights up.

This is what I fear here in Sweden as well, Mazda Sweden knows nothing about the car. We will get no performance parts and they generally seem clueless when I told them about the CEL problems encountered in other parts of the world. I've only hade my car for a week, so I haven't had any problems yet, but I guess I will sooner or later...

Well in Ontario the dealer said he would shave down the part then see if it comes back because the part is in such high demand that they wont get it for a while.

THen i go to Quebec and they call me up and say the part is in and no CEL in about 1300km now. WOOT

So if your dealer doesnt have a clue make them do the legg work becuase from what i have heard the shaving down way doesnt work.

2400 miles, first CEL

Dealer says never to fill-up with the engine idling...says it will go away. Noticed stuttering afterwards. Very bummed b/c I had an awesome Mazda3 sedan w/ no problems in 50K miles...

I got one on the first day I took it out, with about 30 miles on it.

The reason they told me was because I pushed the clutch in 10 times without doing anything. The reason it thought that was because I missed a shift and the shifter cable that connects to the shift linkage came loose, keeping me stuck in 1st gear. Had to get towed back to the dealership. Sucked, especially since it was my first night out with it.

2100 miles CEL just came on, took it to dealer and they fixed. Had to replace the variable swirl shutter valve, I guess there was a tsb on it already.

Umm....wow that really sucks...!!! (alright)

thats a keeper.

CEL came on yesterday during a trip home from TX. I was on Hwy 65 in MO, shift to 4th to pass a car but the engine stumbled a few times and the CEL popped on. It runs fine in 1st, 2nd and 3rd but boosting in 4th and 5th doesn't happen. Ugh. This is when it sucks to have the dealer 80 miles away.

Edit: Forgot to mention this is at 5600 miles.

Check your hoses for a boost leak. While this may be the generic CEL that many of us have experience, this also sounds a bit like a boost leak. If you get lucky it may save you a trip to the dealer.

The CEL came on after driving in rain for 7 hours. I drove it 7.5 hours back to TX yesterday and all is fine. Weird. I'll still take it to the dealer when I get back to KC in a couple weeks so they can pull the code.

Hi all!

Finally we have ordered the intake manifold device (DTC P2006) by providing the serial number of the piece that we found in this forum. They installed it and perfect. No more cels. Same thing in my friends car.

Thank you for all the information. Without that serial number, I think we still with the cel on...

For Spanish people, my dealer-shop is QUERDILER in Madrid. Now they perfectely know how to solve this problem.
