came on at 4800. p2006 modified the intake runner about 2 weeks ago. hasnt come on since but im waiittng.

I believe that this is very much a cold-weather problem as this is the most common thread among people who have posted this issue. It is present in the Mazda 5 group also and cold weather again seems to be a prominent factor. With problems so widespread Mazda has to be working on a fix for this.

Got a CEL at 1800 miles when the temperature dropped down to single digit for the first time. Dealer replaced the intake manifold valve of some sort and haven't had the CEL come back on since. *^_^*

P2006 Slot holes in switch assem and adjusted cleared code.

Anyone know what this entails? Does the intake manifold need to be taken off?

Doubtful as mine was completed in 1 hour including oil change and 10 minutes worth of test drives.

No CEL yet. Build date was November 2006 and it has been cold as sh*t here in the northeast.

Sigh. Oil change and P2006 took 7 hours. And they somehow put 10 miles on it.(uhm)

Change my "no" to a "yes". I'm thinking about just disconnecting the battery and letting the computer reset itself.

(naughty)

I pray it doesn't take that long, mine just came on today and I have an appointment with the mazda dealer at 7:30 in the morning. But I'll be there with the car so if it goes anywhere I'll know and kill if it's gone for to long. What's the P0300 code?

something like engine malfunction... dealer told me they removed the plugs and ran it at 4000rpm for 5 minute, cleaned the plugs and put them back in.

Is there someone that have acces to mazda service bulletins?

How do you run at 4000rpm without any plugs? Neat trick! (headshake

Intake manifold switch ....at about 1200. They first redrilled some holes, then replaced the switch.

No problems since.

The service techs at my dealer drilled the holes and I asked about a replacement swith and if they were going to order one since I thought the bolt extension was a temorary fix, he said they didn't have any clue what I was talking about.

You can have them call my dealer....they said I was one of the first people to get the new part. It does exist.
