harness bar

hey all i am the owner of the only wagner bar that ever made it out of the shop. that photo isnt of my bar even though it looks very close to it.

i personally saw 12 od the bars made and they were waiting in the shop but wagner closed up shop and ran for it so they never shipped out or anything.

kooldino and i have talked about taking mine and making new ones up off of that design.

so far its just talk we havent decided to do anything yet....

Whao, I have wondered about this for a long time...

SWEET!

does anyone know of a harness bar made specifically for the MSP's. i've done the search but don't come up with anything. i don't want a cage or a bar and rollover bar combo. just a harness bar to mount behind the seats and preferrably using stock seat mounting points perhaps.

or something where i could get the roll over/harness bar combo but not render my back seat useless. i've also thought about just getting harnesses and using the baby seat mounts on the rear deck.....any thoughts on this?

not using it to go racing or anything and don't want to change my seats......more for a visual mod more than anything.

Dont need it. Unbolt the rear seatbelt from the left and right side under the rear seat, put the bracket for the rear strap in with it and re tighten it.

DONE

I would seriously reconsider getting a harness bar as they are dangerous for both driver and passenger. Any side impact or roll over incident and the bar is going to bow out once the relatively thin b pillars take the brunt of the hit. If you are lucky they bow out toward the rear (if you have passengers in the rear most likely broken arms or facial bones). You are very unlucky if they bow out toward the front of the passenger compartment and hit you in the head or worse have a mouse trap effect and trap you. They look cool but can be very dangerous unless tied together in more than two points like a full roll cage but still not great for the street. I had a Miata with a roll bar took it out because the risk of splitting my head open was too high plus it was dead weight to drag around.

Same price as Sparco bar and it has more function than just a harness bar.

I'm not shipping that thing to Hawaii nor drilling/welding my car haha.

oh wow, didn't think i'd see this thread again......i pretty much gave up interest in this after reading this post....

would love to see pic's of the full cage though...would probably safer than just the bar itself......
