That depends how you want to do it. I know what you are talking about but by having the harness bar just to offset the belt would be a waste of money.

When you get your harness set up get the warp around type so you can actually use the harness bar. It also provides structural strength to the body of the car.

not exactly, It provides almost no structural strength. If you think about the direction the car wants to flex under cornering, the harness bar would simply go right along with it, and wouldn't resist it at all. The way it could work to resist is to triangulate it to a couple of points in the trunk.

Well it feels like it does something. lol When first put it on there was a big difference when connecting the two points of the car.

My harness belts loop through the bar for the back. The only bolts that go through the floor are the sides and the middle. My drivers side is off center because the brackets I made for my Tenzo seat set the seat off to the left a bit.

I was looking on eBay last night for harness bars that are the solid welded piece but they were all 46". You said this will work too?

Man, there sure are a lot of those non-welded cheap ones available... I'm not trying to cheap out on seatbelts, they are only designed to save your life in a crash. heh-heh.

So this is a 46" welded harness bar on eBay for $128 shipped. This will work, correct? I saw I should be looking for a Toyota MR2 bar. Sorry for asking so many questions, I just want to be positive. Thanks guys.

I got one of these from a part out didnt measure but the guy had it installed in his p5 but when i got it i just placed it in for test fitting and it didnt reach the ends were like an 1 1/2" from the b pillars so not sure how it fit a p5 and not mine. But i am looking to buy a harness but its the kind that bolts to the rear could i make it work as a wrap around like urs or should i just get a wrap around one.
