Happy hour Finder need feedback!! PLEASE HELP!!

i want to start a happy hour finder web-site. for those of you who are over 21 and frequent bars:

what makes you goto a certain bar...deals on drinks, food, the atmosphere, or location?

do you like to try going to different bars or just stick to one?

do you like to go to bars when they have live music?

how often do you go to a bar?

would you even use a web-site to figure out which bar you want to go to?
 
I rarely go to bars on a regular schedule, but what would get me back is staff, and atmosphere. I don't bar hop, I find one I like, and stick to it. no live music, if I want live music, I'll go to to a concert; I go to bars to hang and talk to friends in a pleasant atmosphere. I go about once every 2 months.

maybe use a website...
 
I never actually liked going to bars. I dont mind going every now and then but otherwise i could care less. Im just as happy at our home w/ alcohol that I paid much less for and dont have to worry about getting home.

And i never understood the "bar scene" as a means for meeting people and socializing. Most bars i've ever gone to, you cant hear s***, and that kinda defeats the purpose of going there to socialize...

what makes you goto a certain bar...deals on drinks, food, the atmosphere, or location? Not big on the bar scene, but our Mazda group here is always looking for a good pub (with a nice selection of import beers & good food) to meet at for dinner/beverages.

do you like to try going to different bars or just stick to one? We were trying out a new restaurant/pub once a month, but that went by the wayside with everyone's schedules. If we find one we like, we tend to go back and frequent the place.

do you like to go to bars when they have live music? Not particularly. There's specific venues for that down here (i.e., Eddie's Attic, etc.). Hard to have a conversation with live music.

how often do you go to a bar? Restaurants more so than just a bar - but if you think of a restaurant like Taco Mac as a bar, then we're usually there 3-4 times a month.

would you even use a web-site to figure out which bar you want to go to? sure! As long as it is easy to navigate and offers up useful information (reviews, menus, links, etc.).
 
I choose my bars based on drinks and atmosphere. There's a decent bar very close to where I live, but I just can't relax and enjoy myself when the Murdercycles come to hang out.
I hate college nights, cause the drinks are watered down and people get loaded and get stupid.
I hate going to upscale places (max's downtown) cause if you don't leave a $20 tip you look like a shmuck and I'm not cool with that.
Eli Cannon's is a great bar, it's a hole in the wall, standing room only kind of place. but once we got seats for our group, everyone had a great time. Large selection of good beers and chill people definetly make for a good bar.

There's this little resturant/bar in Vernon that has kickass chimichongas, and there are several nice roads to take to get there, so I don't mind stopping in and paying $20 for 4 beers, to watch some football, with Sean aka Tasty McDougal.
Otherwise, why would I leave my house?

what makes you goto a certain bar...deals on drinks, food, the atmosphere, or location? Cheaper drinks with a low key crowd. I like live music if it isn't to loud or every night for that matter. Pool table is a must. The wife and I play a bunch of pool.

do you like to try going to different bars or just stick to one? We switch things up between 4 or 5 bars. We have different groups of friends who hang out at different places, so we go to them. With the kids we don't get out often.

do you like to go to bars when they have live music? I will go out with my metal friends when there is a good local or national metal act coming through. My wife will go with her friends to check out country acts. We do have a few local cover bands that we seek out when we have a free night.

how often do you go to a bar? When we have money for a sitter and beer. We won't go out unless we have a sitter who stays the night or drives. Once we get home there is no driving. When we can go out we usually get smashed. We both wwere partiers before, and now with the kids we don't drink that much anymore. So when the chance arrives..... Watch Out!!!!

would you even use a web-site to figure out which bar you want to go to? I would use it as a guide to see who has a local pool tourny, which band is playing where, who is having drink specials, and to find new places that have above mentioned things. It wouldn't make my mind for me, but it would help out when we feel like doing something new.

wow i am a big fan of live music at the bars guess i am in the minority here... oh well..

live music and deals on drinks are my top two atmosphere will develope if you have the above two...

I really don't go to those kind of places. Just f**kin with ya'll. I have my own club here.
 
I drink at metal shows and the occasional pub. Not very often though. Oh yeah, Canadian drinking age FTW. 19 in Ontario, 18 in Quebec.
 
this site would be good for broke beer lovers who bar hop to catch drink specials (like me)

are there any features you guys would like on a site like this other than happy hours. For example, top 5 drink cheapest drink specials, top 5 food specials, google maps to show where the bars are, maybe upcoming concerts and big events on the home page?

also, does anybody do web design or know somebody that i could talk to this about? thanks a lot fellas
 
The goodle maps would be great, so would any upcoming events. Maybe if the bars advertise with you they can offer discounts to folks who use your site?

until i can find a better way i just had to call or email every place. im going to try to update about every 6 weeks and if i see they dont change that often ill switch to updating it with the seasons. a few places did have there specials on their web site though which was a huge help to me haha. Cheers.
 
Update: I have made a few changes to the site and have started trying to advertise a little bit through google. Let me know what you guys think! Thanks a lot for your help
