my handbrake buzzes and rattles all the time under engine braking and highway cruising. it drives me nucking futs!!! it seems to be the chrome button rattling on the inside of the handle. if i hold the handbrake the buzz stops, but the second i let go of it it starts again.

anyone else notice this annoyance?

I noticed it and it drove me nuts too. I brought it in to the dealer and they replaced the handbrake assembly, no questions asked. The button on the new handbrake assembly has a sturdier feel to it, and it hasn't buzzed since. :)

Mine started buzzing within the last 2-3 months. (20k+ miles on car) But I find it only a mild distraction. Might mention it next time I go for an oil change.

mine started to buzz when i installed my TRZ RMM. I, however dont get bothered by it.

Remove the cup holders and remove the e-brake sleeve by pressing in the bottom tabs.

Now remove the button and you will see a small spring thing. Place a small piece of rubber; i used a small cut out of a plastic tube; in the groove inside the button. reasemble to completly eliminate the button rattle.

i will definitely have to try this.
thanks for the tip!

I was pondering digging into the e-brake handle to see if I could deaden the rattle/buzz. Thanks for saving me the time of figuring it out! I'll have to give this a go one wekeend soon.
