Haltech question

so there's a local guy selling a haltech e6a unit, i know it's a little old, but my question is, would e6x maps work for this unit? it's for sale for less than half (nearly 1/3) the price of the new haltech unit, and i'm just looking for a bit of boost, not looking to break any records, and probably less than 250whp in my mp3..

and let me add that i am a student working on a rather tight budget..
