Bush sure does cause a commotion doesn't he? It must cost a fortune for him to go anywhere. On my way to work yesterday I saw more marked and unmarked police, military, and security service vehicles on the road than I have ever seen in any place at any time. And for once, they weren't tailgating me waiting for me to break some traffic regulation.
It was almost comical to see the non-descript white or black Suburbans or black Town Cars parked along the edge of the road every 500m or so. Personnel in black tactical gear just minding their own business on the edge of the road......like they weren't conspicuous or anything. s***, my wife had to ask several guys with binoculars and microphones to move from in front of her car after her fitness class and that was more than a block away from his planned route from the airport to downtown. His motorcade was immense too. After all the vehicles drove by in succession it was probably about 2 blocks long.
We live in the South end of town and helicopters were coming and going ALL day. Helicopters flew around downtown all day as well. My in-laws went downtown to participate in a rally and couldn't believe the amount of security. There were police, army, and RCMP personnel everywhere. The RCMP photographed and video-recorded everyone who even approached the downtown core yesterday. s***, they even videotaped people jogging along the canal. The government suggested that their employees take the day off yesterday as well....just in case...LOL!
Bush must have to raise taxes just to finance his trips! It is crazy that one guy can command so much attention even if he is the American president.
