Let me guess....You painted them.
They look good...but...

Some people would suggest powder coating for longevity. What paint did you use?

used ppg dbc base coat and ppg vibrance custom clear. thats just what i had laying around. and if something happens to them i can just strip them and paint them to me its not a big deal!

paint is easyer to strip then powder coat! paint can be touched it up easyer. i can only paint one spoke and blend the clear in! you cant do that with powder

Paint and Powder will both Strip with Aircraft stripper..Just a little FYI.
And at least you used REAL paint..not Duplicolor, Krlon or the like.

I have painted wheels with PPG paint before...As a matter of fact really recently because we were in a pnch to get a custom bike done..We blasted the wheels and shot them Gloss black.
They turned out great and are now on their second season without a flaw.

Real paint...Good
Powder coating...Better
Cheap paint...FTL

If you take your time you can use the cheap paint with great results. I have painted a few sets of wheels that were driven year round here in Chicago. Looked great even after all the salt, etc.

+1.
also,
cheap paint (duplicolor, VHT) CAN and WILL look good if done right, period.

I've been thinking about PCing or painting my RX8s and I think I've come to the conclusion that unless I am sticking to a color that is similar to stock, I'll paint them so I can change the color of the centers, too.

Unless I can find someone that has the ability to PC plastic or make me some machined centers, it's going to be paint.

house of kolor > ppg > other automotive paint brands > powdercoating > anodizing > VHT spray paint > duplicolor spray paint > any other brand of spray paint

Looking to powder coat my RX-8's. Was going to Gunmetal them, but now am thinking more a factory type hyper silver. I like the look of Acura TL 18" Sparkle Silver wheels.

Oh yeah... your wheels are looking good.

Those should look nice when they are done.
I powder coated my RX8 wheels anthracite (basically gunmetal) about 4 years ago, and still love the look. (Car is Winning Blue.)
