Good or BS? I know they are not really MAZDASPEED brand... but will they work? the HKS circle earth system is a little pricey for a grounding system, and a lot of people just make their own. I'm a little lazy and the price is good for this (color is nice too) so what do you think?
Will this ground as well as a homemade kit?

What is the general consensus on grounding wires?

A ground kit is a ground kit, it's all the same 4 or 8ga wire. As to whether or not it works, you might get 2-3 hp out of it, or it might just be a placebo. I dunno, but after I did mine I know it felt like my entire powerband was shifted upwards on the rev range.

I'm going for placebo. I can't imagine why this would increase performance in any way. If anybody knows the theory behind it, please fill me in. BTW, one thing I DO think it should do is help get rid of some of the engine whine in my stereo setup. Did anybody have the whine that was fixed by a grounding kit?

suppose to ground the electricity flowing through the wires faster. thus making more hp and mileage. idk about it. but one thing is that they help on the headlights dimming when using a lot of accesories.

I have the SUN Automotive Hyper wires. No power increase, but lights do not dim anymore.

The grounding kits came about because the original MP3 had large ground impedances between points in the engine compartment, which lead to fluctuating voltages and other problems with noise. Someone developed a grounding kit and it helped the MP3 cars greatly.

I considered a grounding kit for my MSP when it was new. Got all excited about it and then stopped and asked myself what the resistance actually was around the engine compartment. So I got out my trusty HP digital voltmeter and measured around and guess what? It was very, very low...less than 20 milliohms, which is on the order of what normal connector contact resistance is. This was between the engine block and the ground on the battery, the head to the battery, the block to the fender, etc, etc. Bottom line: the MSP doesn't need a grounding kit. If you want to put one in, fine, knock yourself out. But the electronics don't need a grounding kit in the engine compartment.

By the way, I'm an electrical engineer and have 30 years experience.

HKS kit gives arround 10whp to evos.
u might get 2-3 out of this one.

but more importantly the idle will be better, and power delivery smoother.

so is it agreed that the grounding kit, will actually work in your guys opinion?

personally for me, since I have some electronics background, I wouldn't put one in, unless its for show. Personally, since I'm doing some engine dressup, sure a grounding kit would look fab! Otherwise, it'll probably won't make a difference unless you running 2 12"s and 2 amps!

Hrm...well, I guess I need one then! Not now, but soon, and for the rest of my life. :) I'll be getting one only because I think they look neat and *might* help out with alternator whine, and the price of making one myself doesn't really make sense with the cost of some of the pre-fab kits there are out there.

Thanks for the input guys, and to you spicynamja for bringing the topic up again!

um have fun with the ebay 1 our car has 1 big grnd wire that goes into a molex that then runs into the factory harness my guess is rerunnig those 8 or 9 gronds is gonna be a pain in the ass

Here is the exact same kit.
