hey i was wondering if any one had a fix for the black grip on the shifter. mine is extreemly loose and slides all the way down. really annoying when i drive and i dont want to rip it off so any sugestions would help.

Glue? Other than that you'll just have to get a new shifter

i dont think glue is going to help, its really stretched out. maby a heat gun but it might melt to it and look like crap. i like the stock sparco, just not the grip.

i know on my 03.5 the "grim" is leather. is it the same on yours? if so i dunno if a heat gun will work but you could try!

maybe cut it and stitch it back together tighter? then slip it on from the bottom since its not as wide.

cause u really dont have many options. if its perforated the glue would just come out of the holes. then youd sticky palms. no good. no good at all.

I just bought a new Sparco Techno Chrome solid, no stupid leather grip. Only bad part is if the car sits outside a while it gets really hot and its not a thread on like the factory one. You can make it thread on if you find the right thread sleeve though.

I slid my cover off, flipped it inside out, put some stitches in(inside out so you dont see) and it slid on tighter than condoleeza rice's a**

i hate that shift knob.. in winter at -25 degree the little ****** is a pain to handle with bare hands until it warms up after 20-30 minutes. lol

its the opposite here in kansas, i drove home today with a mcdonalds napkin covering the metal top it was so hot lol

I dont know whats worse you with the napkin or me with an extra pair of socks that i had in the car and they were clean too by the way(boom03)

im with you guys...i live in SD and my lil shifter gets blazin hot, ended up using my batting gloves to drive around...looked like an idiot
mine also came off shifting one night going to the movies....real nice

i as well have the sparco techno shift knob in black/chrome, its the same as the stock 03 shift knob but instead of painted silver its chrome and has a black metal grip instead of the black rubber.

i had my wife re-sew it. put it on. looked like a piece of torn ass. threw it away. now rockin the stocker with no "leather." much better then that cheap ass material.
