Well guys, I finally got my pictures downloaded from the camera. I drove down with my parents (who actually wanted to go.. how cool is that?) and my sister to Norfolk, VA for the show. From where we live in MD, that's about a 4 hour drive in the VW Passat W8. The show was amazing, and I have to say that MCR wasn't as bad as I anticipated. Green Day was killer... I'd prolly say better than when I saw them in Hershey, PA last October (well they HAVE had 6 months to practice sice then!). As it has been mentioned in this thread already, Billie Joe always pulls some fans onto the stage to play "Knowledge" by Operation Ivy and gives the guitarist the guitar. Well I helped my 16 year old sister make a sign out of a pillow case which read: "I PLAY GUITAR; (and I'm cute)." We get up on the left side of the Runway jut-out and were no further than 5 feet from BJ and Mike Dirnt (the bassist). When the time comes, she pulls out the sign and he comes on over. Long story short, my sister was the one selected by Billie Joe Armstrong to go up and play with Green Day. Running on all adrenaline, I jumped up and crowd surfed to the front of the crown where I was taken down by a huge bouncer and got a "High-Five" from Mike Dirnt. It was truly a most memorable concert and I posted some pics to show you what I mean. Most of them were taken by my folks in the stands. The first one (the low quality pic) was from my camera phone to show how close we were. The second is of my sister and I all made-up before the show. The third is of the greats themselves. Fourth is my sis playin her heart out on stage. And last is the two of us with the guitar (Excallaber!) which Billie Joe signed on the back.
Hope everyone else who went to one of the shows had a great time too!
Jeff
