Greddy type s knock off problemo

Alright. Iv'e just recently boosted my p5 and have a base map for the mpi at 8psi. For the first few days the car would pull like crazy and the bov was doing its job perfectly.

Now, since yesterday, when I step on it it only is hitting 5psi and sounds as if the bov is open all the time, and you could hardly hear it when you let off the throttle. I know there is a vacumm leak cause my boost guage is only reading 9 vac when off the throttle. At first you could hear it when I was at 8psi and it sounded like the real type s. But now it sounds like its leaking and hardly blows off when I let off the throttle. When it was at 20 vac the bov worked fine. Now, could this just be the cause of a vacumm leak or is the bov crapped out and causing the leak? Ive tried tightening and loosening, but nothing seems to work. At first the bov worked fine, but now its sounds as if when I hit boost its blowing out the air before I let off the gas. Now, is this a common problem with the fake greddy type s ?

I know you get what you paid for, but this was the first thing I bought when I decided to go boost and really forgot about it until the install. Im going to try to really get down to the problem tomorrow, if the bov crapped out I'm going for the real thing.

just unhook the vac line to the blow-off and plug it. see if you vac leak is still there. if it is then you gotta look else where for that leak.

where are you running the vac line to the blow-off from?

It wasn't the bov. One of my couplers had a crack in it. All fixed. Thank anyways.

keep a eye out on that Knock off type-s BOV. I have heard some bad things about the knock offs, when it comes to my motor i only run the real thing because one time it not opening could mean a major turbo destruction as well as the turbine fragments forced into the motor. that is just my $.02
