Greddy FMIC

GReddy FMIC was supposed to be release by November 2003. I haven't heard any updated release date yet, I will find out today.

dont know if anybody really cares. but I was at my buddies shop last night putting my VIS hood on. I picked up his Greddy catalog and under FMIC upgrades it says TBA for a Mazdaspeed Protege FMIC. dont know on the price though it just said TBA. But i noticed that the prices ranged from $800 (SOHC civic) to like $2000 (i think it was for a TT rx7 and was more then just an intercooler) but i thought that was cool and cant wait to see it. also on a side note they are working on a turbo for the Mazda 6, yet they wont do one for the standard protege.
Yeah dude, I can validate this. Greddy will be using my vehicle to fabricate hard pipes, as well as two exhaust systems. I think one is a turbo back setup, and one is just a cat-back. They are still in R&D, so I will not be able to post much about it until they tell me I can. Keep an eye out though, I think they will be pretty sweet kits! I will update everyone as soon as I can. Thanks!

Thats hot keep us posted! A turbo back set up would be nice.

Good news for everyone!! Greddy just finished prototyping a new exhaust for the MSP, which they said will also fit the other Protege models once they make the proper adjustments. Everyone was confused when I told them they were using my car today to prototype two new exhaust systems. I now know why. (They used my car for two new exhaust designs, they said)

#1 - The previous exhaust did not properly fit the MSP, from what they tell me. This new one is 60mm, which they said is much better breathing for our turbo.

#2 - This is the main reason they needed my car today. The resonator and setup they had before was too loud for production. This new model will comply better to local laws, so I won't get pulled over like I do with my show car every time I step on the gas. That car sets off car alarms if I want it to. Remember, that car is a V6 though, so it has a meatier sound, it isn't like some Toyota/Hyundai/Honda exhausts, which sound like "pissed off bees."

At any rate, Charlie said the exhaust system should be back on shelves within a month or so, updated and better than ever! (rockon) I am looking forward to it, because I didn't get to hear it when it was on my car today. I was at work. I will get my free exhaust when it is ready for production again.
Let me know if you need any further info, I may be able to ask him about it.
Thanks!

Haha...yeah, benefits of the industry. I work @ Nissan, but they contacted me because they are looking for a bunch of different cars, and didn't know anyone with an MSP. I had a friend here who used to sell Greddy products, and his friend was the one contacted to find someone. His friend owns Brainstorm Motorsports near NNA Headquarters. Everything is related. My gf took the car in for me today, and I should have a new exhaust within a month, I hope. I also may now have a hookup for Greddy parts. I already got a good deal, just over cost. Now I am eligible for cost, if Charlie hooks me up with his cost! I can see it now, a new Profec B Spec II to play with too!! (2thumbsup)

talked to a guy from GReddy at D1 he said early summer, and they are going to do some more stuff for our cars too, just not sure what
