Greddy BOV very quiet

Ok ... i have the dual BOV /BPV combo on my car and the BOV is finally adjusted to where it needs to be so the car doesnt stall. I drop to about 400 rmp and then back to 1100 every time and the car stays running. So im good with that part. The problem being though is that a greddy is supposed to be really loud and long in its whistle. Mine is a short quiet whistle. I know that the speed of shifting also has something to do with it ... but even shifting slowly, I only get a short quiet whistle and a little bit of pssst sound. Whats up with this.

Ohhh yeah ... only mods are:
Hardpiping Kit
Greddy Type-S BOV
AEM Intake
Flashed

I dunno but i will be in Columbus later today and could prob take a look at it.

Let me know quickly though.

When I ran the dule setup it was real quiet. Now I don't run dule setup and greddy bov is loud, loud, loud. Just block off intake pipe and turbo pipe and weld a flange on turbo pipe. This way you'll eliminate the factory bpv.

Do you have a picture of your setup?

My BOV is on the IC / Intake pipe. What do i do with the hose the currently connects the BPV to the AEM and the BPV to the IC/Turbo pipe.

try this dude...if you have a bc...turn it up to 10 or 12 and go for a drive letting the bov go off...see how loud it is then.

whats that hose there after the bov going to the intake?
thats a big vacumm line...did you have the bpv there and then took it off.

This one?

That is the hose that goes from the IC/Turbo pipe to the BPV then to the Air intake

Ummm...from looking at your pics...I am not seeing a BPV in there?I see the hose from the intake to the upper IC piping but no valve?

Either way it doesnt matter...if your not stalling then you have it set right...Turn up the boost man...you will love it soo much more!

Today i hacked into the brake booster line and setup the BOV and BPV to pull vacuum from it. So the wastegate is on its own vacuum now. The Greddy got a little bit louder, but its still a short whistle and no PSSSSSST.

HELP

Sorry ,I did come to COL last night but ran into a lot of trouble while I was on my way there and while there...I would have called but cosidering the situation...It totally slipped my mind.

Sorry...Matt

I may be back next weekend or later this week depending on my work schedule.I will help you out then if you dont figure it out.In the meantime...I say a Boost controller would solve your issues and put a giant grin upon your face at the same time...For more then ONE reason!

Its no problem at all man ... i think i have possibly figured it out now anyway, but im not sure ... i need some validation on this. I think that the stock BPV is diverting so much of the blowoff back into the air system, that almost none of the over pressure is even reaching the BOV, so it doesnt have much to blow off. Changing its vacuum source and giving the wastegate its own source did seem to help a little, but the thing is still way way way too quiet for my taste. I guess its off to jack up the boost. I need to get a profec B spec II first though.
