Gotta Vent Monthly Brunch and Drive WTF!?

This is UKQueen's husband. Anyway, some of you all will probably flame me for this, but I'm telling it like it is anyway. I usually don't vent/rant since I'm also one to do some spirited driving, but there is a time and place for that. A few bad apples spoil the bunch. Other than what's mentioned below we had a pretty good time.

The ride and it did start out well enough. Great place to dine at Brion's. When we went for the cruise that was where it got hairy.

The route was well enough planned, however, a few of you were driving too recklessly on the residential low speed roads. I don't know who that was in the silver MP5 w/Maryland tags, but he almost crashed! He was going WAY too fast over a hill and he ended up swerving all over the road across the double line! The only thing that saved him was the fact that there wasn't a car traveling in the other lane. WE WERE RIGHT BEHIND HIM! Dude, whoever you are, you scared the s*** outta us!

Second thing, whoever was leading the pack, flying like a bat outta hell and got that cops attention, that wasn't cool either. I mean, we all had to hide on someone's driveway like a bunch of racerboy kids. I mean come on. This isn't Fast N' Furious, save that s*** for autocrossing! We didn't meet back at the restaurant because we were pretty turned off by that time. Sounds like you guys had a nice time with the cookout though. Cya at the next meet.

I'm not going to say much in response - except defend autocrossing. There are some obvious misconceptions people have about autocrossing - come out to the next event and find out for yourself, what its all about! Its addictive. And nothing like the 'Spirited Drive" we embarked on today.

Man, it sounds worse and worse as the real story develops. Who was leading?

Eric and Lt. Dan did a great job leading and holding in the end of the pack and maintaining a reasonable speed in the residential areas, while having a bit of fun in the twisties, but today sounded like a disaster.

the psycho silver P5 driver sounds like Casey(evil)

Hmm strange cause the last one was greatly planned. We went the speed limit/below in residential areas and for most of the straights. Only went fast around the curves and if their were normally no cars. This sounds way off from the last couple of ones.

Yeh me and casey had fun driving down to the promazda meeting at fudruckers....dis msp cut yo azz off foo!......i dont mind a serious drive to put ur car through its paces....but when u got alot of ppl it can get ugly fast.....(fight)

Toning down the speed on the straightaways (especially in residential areas) may be a prudent plan of action for future fun runs! I agree - our cars are more about appreciating the handling in the twisties :)

I feel so special, Rob. You figured out my (intended) style of ride leadership exactly! I'm sorry this one was a disaster. I guess I'm glad I wasn't there? Well, actually, I'm quite sorry I missed the BBQ part of the day.

I will readily admit that the first one was not well navigated, though. I certainly hadn't planned for 10 cars to have to make 2 U-turns!
