Got the standback installed its GREAT!!!!

You can start "slipping" as in the tires even stock. So what is the difference? If you are allowed to burn the tires (stock) with the traction control disabled what would keep you from doing it with the Standback?

So you can have your tires slip (as you call it) at 10 or 12 psi but not 18 or 20psi? The
ECU does a controlled "burn...??"

First off you have two different types of the traction control. So pushing that little button that says "DSC" to the off position is only one of them. I am no expert nor an engineer working for CP-E. Thats what I know and have been told. Hopefully CP-E (Jordan) will be able to comment.

BTW, when and if you do slip, I said that the ECU will BRING YOU DOWN TO 10 or 12psi. Did not say you will not slip at that psi. Thats exactly right, a controled burnout. Safety feature.

Yes, I understand that point of 'pushing the little button' but it doesn't change the fact that you can fry your tires stock. Something here doesn't make sense. CPE ??

Well if you think about it you can burn out with any car. So I am not sure what you are getting at...??? Remember, this car does not come from the factory ready for drag racing, autox, or any racing whats so ever. This car is loaded with safety features with this being one of them in order to be a safe and reliable daily driver.

007 your the one who said "once you start slipping and or the ECU detects anything it is still going to bring you down to 10 or 12psi..."

I'm just questioning what YOU wrote. I do not see how the ECU could/would determine how much tire "slippage" (your word) is too much or too little. Burning the tires is burning the tires, are you saying the ECU cares if you burn them at 10 or 12 psi vs. 18 or 20psi? But it allows them to burn none-the-less? All am saying is that I dont understand your comment, that even after installing a Standback you have the ability to set say 18-20psi but if the car senses "slip" it brings you back down to 10 or 12psi.

Waiting for CPE to clarify.

Gears have nothing to do with the adjusting boost. Boost is boost. The standback sets the psi to which you desire. But once you start slipping and or the ECU detects anything it is still going to bring you down to 10 or 12psi through 1 and 3 gears

Pretty much. Its all part of the two traction control systems. The standback, correct me if I am wrong CP-E, does not have control over the throttle body as we all know so therefore the standback cannot maintain psi when the ECU kicks in to bring you down in order to maintain control of the vehicle. The throttle body is key.

Xede does not have control of the throttle plate either but will give you full boost in all gears. Care to explain?

It may prevent the wastegate from opening to give full boost in all gears, but as somebody pointed out the closing of the throttle plate will reduce the volume of air entering the turbo. So, whether or not boost is lowered, power output will be reduced by x% with any piggyback that doesn't control the throttle plate.

Well hopefully by January we will have a fully stand alone pnp that will controll even our minds LOL(cool)

talked to Josh at CP-E. he says you will see incresed boost in the limited gears but still not the full amount you heve programmed the standback to create. that is fine by me...i have enough traction problems !

Thanks for everyones good info. In what gear then will you be able to see full/max boost as set by the Standback w/out ECU intervention?

Tru - how long till your standback arrives from PG? I'm doing it also.

i dont know when it will be in. the GB is still in progress. you will see the highest boost in 4-6th. but you will get an increase in 1-3 as well.
cant beat that price from PG !!
