(notcool) Well I woke up(3AM) to Krystle(My girlfriend for all of those who dont know) bumping me. I turned to see her violently convulsing. I got up and turned her on her side, her eyes were in the back of her head, she was almost choking on her own saliva. This went on for about 8 minutes. I called 911, and they came promptly. She was completly unresponsive. She kept ripping off the sensors that they put on her, her eyes were completly dialated. They then took her to the hospital. She has a history of heart problems. I came back to do some work on the computer, and I will be going back shortly. Please put Krystle into your prayers/thoughts. Thank you. I will keep everyone updated. This morning was not fun, scary stuff!

OMG!! How is she now. Stable? Send her my condolences. And we can do anything to help don't hesitate to ask.

Yeah, as far as i know she is doing ok. I dont know the details though, i will be going back shortly. Thank you guys.

I'm glad you had the knowledge to react correctly by putting her on her side and calling 911... Most people should receive some type of training just in case something like this should happen to anyone... that's why I'm studying to be an EMT...

but anyway, hope to hear she's fine...

wow clay. im sorry to hear that man. i hope everything goes well, if theres anything i can do man, give me a call.

sup clay... let me know if you need anything bud. you know my number. what hospital is she at? keep me updated. call me after 330 today and i'll come out.

My thoughts are with you. My wife is epileptic, and the seizures happen at night 99% of the time. Very scary indeed.

My best to you both!

Yeah, turning her on her side and calling 911 was 100% the right thing to do. Someone having a seizure while laying on their back can aspirate their own saliva and basically drown themselves in their own spit.

Not much you can do to stop a seizure..you just have to let it go...and protect the person's head and body from hitting hard objects. A bed is one of the 'safer' places to have a seizure.

Until EMS can get there and give an IV drug like Ativan (which stops seizures) you just have to wait it out, and monitor her airway & breathing.

You said she had heart problems...any history or family history of a seizure disorder?

BTW it's fairly common for someone to remain unresponsive for the several minutes after a seizure (called the postictal state)

man i cant imagine what that was like...i hope everything turns out alright..and all my prayers are with u and yer wife..sorry man

Yo Clay I hope Krystle is doing well. Remember The Tucson peeps are here for you and Krystle. If you need anything don't hesitate.
