Yeah like it says got my first ticket tonight. Went a whole year without one or any accidents (I'm 18). I was following two friends in an area I didn't know and the cop claimed I was racing over 60mph, but he didn't actually clock me doing that so he gave me a careless driving ticket instead then asked me where they were going and sent 2 cops after then caught them and gave them the same tickets. If I had known he was going to do that I would've lied about where they were going or just said I didn't know where they were taking me or something. Anyway it's 2 points and I have to go to court saturday the 17 of this month. Think I can get out of it if I go to court since i got a clean record? Any tips pointers, etc, etc would be helpfull.

Yeah tell me about it, but he was the sargent or whatever like the one in charge above all the other cops that showed up so I guess he couldn't look soft or give up an opportunity to give out 3 tickets with one blow. I can't afford for my insurance to go up. I'm paying out the but to have this car as it is.

this cop claimed my mom didnt stop for a stop sign but since we were turning left and there was a CAR we had to wait to go first, the judge let us off, i wonder how it feels for a cop to take its own med 
i just picked myself up a 89 in a 55..******* I-84 and their slow ass speed limits. yo chris, come to the next jersey meet..we can rock out to some glassjaw and make fun of others.
Not sure how it works where you live, but around here, you can usually talk to the prosecutor beforehand and possibly plead guilty to "registered owner in contravention....". That way you don' t get any demerits, you just have to pay the fine.
How much is the penalty anyway? For careless driving here, it's $402. The thing you may want to consider is the evidence that will be presented. Will the officer be able to present clear, reasonable evidence that you were driving carelessly according to your area's law?

I hate tickets, insurance people love when there coustomer get tickets, well see if you get your 2 points back by a driving class or something

you're lucky it was only 2 points. a ticket here- 15 over the limit is 4.
yeah, go to court and try to plead guilty to a non point giving ticket. They'll probably suggest it before you even get a chance to talk. You could also get lucky and the cop may not show up at all...in that case, you're clear.

Well chris, I have had alot of experiance with going to court, and in my experianceses, The Stinken Cops ALWAYS show up, no matter what. I haven't had to many tickets in a long time, but from the time I was 16 to 19, I got over 50 tickets, ya, alot of them were fixed tickets, too low, tinted side windows, no front licence plate but the ones that count, the Cops always show up and I never got a break. But NOW, I have been pulled over about a dozen times in the last year and only got 1 ticket and I was driving almost 100 mph and he didn't give me a ticket for that, he only gave me a ticket cuz my license and reg. didn't have the correct mailing address. BOY was I lucky, that would have been a MAGOR TICKET, loss of licence, inpound my car and the fine would have been outragous. I wish you the best of luck.
if he did not clock you, then he wont have anything i would fight it. there's got to be more to this then just following your friends. were you all passing people at the same time i find it hard to believe he just pulled you over for no reason and gave you a wreckless tickit. and in most states if they dont have you on radar you get a warning. the wreckless part sucks because the cop on has to think you were being wreckless and its good enough fo the judge
