Goofy Factory alarm???

I did a forum search and found this thread. I have a P5, but just recently started having the EXACT same problem with my factory alarm. Not looking forward to sending my car to the dealer. Oh well.

Actually it was quite painless... dropped the car off at the dealer, explained the problem, they were aware of the alarm issues, and had the car back to me within 24 hours. No collateral damage to the car either! :D

MY problem is that whenever I park next to my apartment or at my friend's place, the exhaust of others cars driving by makes my alarm beep every 5 minutes. My roommate actually set the damn thing off yesterday with his Jetta (only because he doesn't know how to park & has to adjust it like 5 times). Bah, hopefully the car cover will help.

Look up under your dash (under steering column) and turn the sensitivity knob down. I work at a dealership where we had to replace the alarm brain on two MSPs (right off the truck). My lights started to acting up yesterday.

errrr this doesn't happen to all MSP right, or is it something to look for cuz it will happen? I'm just wondering cuz I haven't had this problem....but I want to watch for it just in case.

Oh crap I just put in a new system and I have this problem with my car do you think they'll complain about how I voided the whole electrical warranty now and wont fix it?

The module #

Just got back from the dealership and they had to order the module for the alarm. Here's the part # if anybody cares
