Goodbye MS3...

Mazdaspeed 3, True Red
So, as some know, Im letting the mazda go, and instead, I purchased a 2001.5 Audi S4 from my brother. The car is pretty stock engine wise, with the exception of a chip and exhaust. Its definitely faster than the speed when the temp is right (stock ICs cant keep up with the 80-90 degree summer heat). The car pulls like a freight train. My goals are to eventually garage the car, buy a DD, and start a full restoration. (years down the road) My goals are to keep her forever, and go widebody, and hopefully get it to push somewhere in the area of 600 whp. Overall, I was happy with the Mazda, but the quality difference here is undeniable. Ill be sticking around, just wont post as often...heres the car

well, it was a pleasure posting on the forums with ya! haha great car. keep us updated with what you do to her! =)

Good luck with the Audi..looks like a really nice car. I've always loved VW/Audi's, but I hate the maintenance on them.

And you thought maintenance and HP parts on a MS3 could get expensive!!
Nice Car
Good Luck

nice car, how much did you get it for from your brother? and how much did you get for the 3?

Audi Man

Scott,

Really, really nice car! Black is the best color but so hard to keep clean, (sure you can handle it though cause your MS3 was always clean). I like your idea of keeping it as a lifetime/project car. But you got to take it to the local NorCal tracks and go up against Alex, Patrick and even myself.
There are a lot of Audis on track and you should join in on the fun. Don't baby it, just run it hard. Whatever breaks is replaceable, usually with a new and even better part.

Have fun, (Go Spartans)!(bowdown)

Not a bad trade off. Twin turbo and AWD, can't really go wrong with that. Although that S4 has its share of common issues (which you probably know of), it sure will be a fun car. I sure wouldn't mind one.

So now that you're letting the MS3 go, willing to part any of your parts out? Hehe, I'm local.

thanks everyone!!! the car has 98k miles on it, babied to the maxxx since day one. the S4 Avant is my older bros. I bought the sedan from him, and he bought the avant.

The S4 looks great, looks like you already have a few goodies on it. It's hard to find nice ones, I sold my Nogaro 2 years ago thinking I'd get back into a stock one eventually and go with the GT turbos, but there aren't that many nice ones out there, hard to find the mix of being mechanically sound and nice cosmetics. I see an older gentleman drive a Santorin at my son's teeball games, that car looks bone stock and perfect, maybe I should just make him an offer, ha ha.

I would definitely keep the Speed3, though, my last S4 probably cost me about $12k in repairs in the 7 years I owned it (not counting the K04s I put in).

yeah they are expensive, but its worth it to me, I love it. I originally wanted my bros because It is cosmetically flawless, and mechanically amazing. Im lucky to have the car because I know its history like it has been my own car. Lets hope I have good luck with her, because Ill be taking her off to college next year, and I hope she lasts!!
