So last week i totalled my car on hwy :( I was in the slow lane with my cruise set at about 105km when i started to sneeze going around a bend. right on the other side of the bend traffic was stopped for construction. when i looked up i was 5 feet away from a ford explorer. i tried to go into the ditch but it was too late and smashed into the back of the ford. i went into the ditch and his car actually flipped end over end onto another car in front of him. amazing thing is that no one is hurt at all. As i was talking with the police officer, i asked him what happens now. what do i get charged with, he says nothing cause a witness beside me saw me sneezing and sneezing is a non controllable offence so no charges.

so insurance is covering everything and im not going to be getting a new ms3. im going to drive my old car (1992 dodge stealth tt) and buy a condo. i have snow tires on steel rims ill post for sale later and ill also post the pics i took of the car all smashed up.

also i want to say how well built are cars are. if i was in a peice of s*** or wasnt wearing my seatbelt, i dont think i would be here right now to tell you all about this. the whole car just crumpled around me to absorb the impact.

WOW dude !! Glad that you and the rest that was involved are ok. I'm also happy you're not charged with anything. Good luck w/ the condo !!! :)

Sorry to hear that, at least everyones ok. I've seen a couple threads now about how well the MS3 holds up in a crash, good to know.

I should post pictures of my first Mazda 3 getting sandwiched between a stopped car and a van doing 45 mph. The little car held up well in head ons. Not sure how well it does in side impact, but the car kept me safe. That's why I've purchased two more...

I'm happy nothing happened to all the parts involved.

Also, you're lucky you had a witness to confirm you'd sneezed, at least that lets you off the hook legally, less problems to deal with.

Hope everything works out for the best!! Good luck!

Glad your ok man. Were there no signs a good mile or two back that says "construction ahead" to give you a warning which could have helped prevent this from happening? I'm always afraid of getting rear ended especially at full speed from some person behind me.

WOW! Sounds like the car did its job.

PM me details and picks on the winter wheels and tires. I'm interested.

Damn! Good to hear that no one was hurt and that your car will be covered by the insurance. Take care of yourself and grats on the condo!

i'm glad you're ok. but you really should see a doctor about that sneezing problem. there are effective meds for allergic rhinitis, if that's what you have. and canada has universal health insurance right?

Sorry to hear man, but you seem relatively unscathed for doing 105km/h. The MS3 must really be a safe car.

glad your ok man! sucks about your car though...nice that someone took the time to be a witness. i was in a fender bender about a month ago in front of prob. 50 people and noone stopped. Thankfully his ins. co. payed me for the damage.

You need to sue your doctor for not diagnosing you with "helio-ophthalmic outburst syndrome"

"A disorder, also known as the achoo syndrome, characterized by nearly uncontrollable paroxysms of sneezing provoked in a reflex fashion by the sudden exposure of a dark-adapted subject to intensely bright light, usually to brilliant sunlight. The number of successive sneezes is usually 2 or 3, but can be up to about 40."

His negligence could have cost you your life!

Its amazing your doctor can sleep at night....Glad you are OK.

they were stuck in construction traffic... the witnesses had nowhere to run, nowhere to hide (lol2)

anyway, as previously mentioned, this is the second MS3 wreck thread in the last couple days, and in both cases the mazda seemed to hold up quite well, which makes me feel pretty good about driving around in it.

good luck to you with the next car.

Wow, I can't believe our little hot hatch Chuck Norris'd a Ford Exploder!

All jokes aside, I'm really glad to hear everyone is OK and that insurance is covering what they are supposed to.

I feel for you man, My MS3 took on a mountain and did pretty well. Glad you're ok! I was sore for a few days(freak)
