Good ways to quiet turbo after installing Cobb SRI?

I don't care for the sound, either. Don't know about anyone else, but mine gives more of a hissing sound than a whooshing sound - sounds more like a leak than anything else (who knows, maybe it is... I did have the engine replaced - lots of opportunities for bad connections). A lower-pitched sound would be much less annoying. And I can't hear the turbo spool unless the windows are open.

So go ahead now - tell me to get a Smart car, if it'll make y'all feel better.

Well there is a knob right in the middle of the car that turns both clockwise and counter clockwise, you can all ways give that a shot lol

Get a true boost gauge with a vac reading and it will help you if you just want to keep it out of boost.

Is this serious.... The sounds of a turbo engine are among the sexiest things on earth. I am at a loss for words here... Sell it, just sell the car. Clearly it is not for you. I cant tell you how many peoplw out there put intakes and new BPVs on this ONLY because they want to hear the turbo. s*** some people run VTA blow offs and lose power just to hear the sound. To be embarressed about the sound of a performance car with turbo noise is shameful.

Put the stock air box back on, get a K&N drop in and cut a few holes in the bottom of the box. An open element intake it always going to be loud.

I took my CAI off because of the loud sucking sounds. It was embarassing with other people in the car.

Under WOT it sounded great... but 95% of my drive is light to moderate acceleration and the part throttle acceleration noises drove me insane.

I love the sound of a turbo spooling up (a sound with a distinctive pitch that increases in frequency as the turbo spools up). It sounds absolutely nothing like air being sucked through a tube.

It's the intake induction noise (that annoying sound that most people seem to mistake as "the sound of the turbo") that I don't like.

The turbo is this car is very quiet and any sound that it does make would be masked by the induction noise of a SRI or CAI.

If you pack the turbo and intake pipe with sound deadening insulation it works like a charm...

But in all seriousness, Corksport is working on a cold air box for the Cobb SRI so when that comes out that will probably limit the noise a bit.

i really don't see this quieting the intake down

i have the Cobb SRI and i love going part throttle lol. to hear that little wistling sound and then the pussshhhh rrriinnnngggg(it makes a little ring noise in the lower gears lol) of the Turbo XS RFl lol. that is pure sex in its self. lol. i love my MS3 :D

i love mine too, honestly i am getting much better at being able to ... PRODUCE NOISE AT WILL ... and also drive so it doesnt create much noise. Takes training i guess.

not really, i had no real comment. i just wanted to see where this was headed.

It was much easier to hear the turbo spool on my 2nd gen RX-7 TII. I hope she got put to good use...
