Gonna Try Something....accord type R lip

So after looking at local junk yards looking for an accord lip and coming up with nothing I'm going to try to get a Type R accord lip from ebay and see if I can't get it to work. The wife is going out of town for about a week at the end of the month So I plan on removing my bumper cover and working on it while I drive her car. Does anyone know if the ones on ebay that say they are urethane are actually urethane? Some go for about 40-60 bucks others about 12 bucks? Please don't flame me for this I just want to try it and see if I can make it work. For $50 why not? If It works I'm going to paint it to match the body. Let me know if anyone has expercience with any of this.

good idea, i've been wondering if something like this would work. i've seen a few of these lips in person and they appear to be urethane, although i didnt look really closely. i'm sure with some cutting and a bit of bending you could get a decent fit. let us know how this works out.

i dont think i would be a fan of this on a P5, maybe just the protege itself

Looks good but I'm just gonna stick with the MP3 splitter on mine. It's subtle and oem and fits inside the bra for long road trips. Not like I need to be plowin up any more garbage on the roads than I already do either...........

The type-r lip should fit generally the same as the oem honda accord lip... It's been done a few times.

Ok, so an update! I ordered the 94-95 Type-R style front lip for the honda accord off ebay for 52.99 shipping included. Should be rather soon as I'm in Oregon and it's in Cali. When it's here I'll be trying to get it installed asap. I'll take a bunch of pics and try to do a How-To if I can

It's not just gonna bolt right up. Just so you know, lol. My OCD got the best of me and I removed mine a couple months ago. It's in 2 pieces in my living room. To fit the contours of the bumper (p5/msp/mp3 bumper, at least) you have to work with it.

you might have to put it in the sun for a little bit so you can mold it onto the bumper. good luck!
