All the new accounts that are created, there should be a "Bug Report" on the upper right hand corner along with contacts. Click on that and there is "Suggestions/Wish", I would recommend you guys write a short suggestion/wish to them regard pop3 service. I personally wrote one yesterday and I think if we get more people to ask for it, eventually they'll do it.
Basically, just tell them that many people don't use gmail as primariy email because they don't have pop3 service available. However, if they do get this done early, people would actually start using them via outlook. In return, more people use them, it's easier to find any bugs.

As they have the targeted text ads on the site (just like the text ads when you do a google search). They need to find out a way to implement that via POP3 without being intrusive. Or they may offer POP3 access for a premium.

If you go to kevinrose.com kevin rose the host of the screensavers on techtv has been collecting them all week long and he is going to give them out on friday and monday
his goal was to collect 100, so far I think he has gotten 3000 this week. Public release has to be soon since they are giving them out like candy....
