Wow. I had the dealership put in GM Syncromesh while they were replacing my CV axle.. The notchiness is completely gone and I no longer have a hard time going into reverse. I don't know how Redline does with our trannies, but from previous posts, it didn't do much. This GM stuff worked wonders! Highly recommended.

what is this GM Syncromesh?

Is it made by general motors? How much does it cost? I would really like as much info as possible on this.

I just happened to read about it on a DSM (Eclipse) forum while searching around for Redline reviews. They had nothing but priase for it, so I had to try it. It's about $8-9/qt at a local Chevy dealership. Just ask for Syncromesh tranny fluid and they'll set ya up. It's SO much better and it's like fluid now..

Sounds good. I hope it stays like that because I have heard of the notchiness going away for a little while with redline and then coming back. Keep us updated.

I believe in the DSM forum, they also said that the GM Synchromesh is same as Penzoil Synchromesh. Penzoil Synchromes is supposely only half of the price.

Does anyone know this for sure?

i know for sure that they said this in the dsm forum, as i posted the link a day or so ago :) i wouldn't doubt that its true because gm definitely doesn't make their own fluids, and depending on the contract they have the other company could just go out and sell it

I finally got to put my foot in it a bit.. After the oil warms up, there's still slight notchiness between first/second. However, it's GREATLY improved. I'll have a chance to really test it out tommorow night, so I'll update ya then.

I was just wondering because I was reading on Penzoil's site that this fluid is just for GM and Chrysler trannies, so is it safe to use in the MSP?

Hey Chris, is that a Wise Sports S15 front bumper in your sig? If so, PM me if you can get me a price for one.

I went to a 24-hour Autozone today and the Penzoil Synchromesh was selling almost as expensive as the Mobil 1 synthetic stuff ($6.99). Has anyone in this board tried the Mobil 1 atf?

yeah ATF.. not so good!

I had good luck with smoothing out the shifting with Redline lightweight Shockproof.
