Gladys and the Mini Seeing "Eye-To-Eye"

Here are a few shots me and my friend took of my car Gladys, and his 1965 Mini racer. It's got a full rollcage, racing seats, 2 5 point harnesses, and just recently he upgraded all the gauges to Autometer Carbon Fiber.

I'll let the pics speak for themselves, but trust me. This car is like a ******* go-kart. It just sticks in the corners, you don't even take your foot off the gas.

A few more pics. The cars had a staring contest, and personally, I think the wimpy Mini looks goofy with the mean looking Protege staring it down.

Note in the last pic, both cars have their rear bumpers even.

So finally, we took some head on light shots. Which looks better to you? The wimpy Mini, or the sexy P5? Ya, I know that on like an auto-x that Mini would kick my ass, but we'll see for sure on Friday at the track...

I just love the Mini! Theres a red Mk1 for sale in the next town over and the owner wants around 15K for it. Have you seen the Mk1s with honda motors?

I had a 71 Mini Copper with Hurst shifter, Thrush exhaust with a Hush Thrush on the end to give it a more 4 banger engine sound. Original pine wood dash with Smith gauges and 10 Pirelli tires... Man that car was the best... it was red with a white roof. The front of the car was full fiberglass and had little belts on the side that were used to keep the hood down.

Ahhh brought back a lot of good times.. I'll rummage through some of my old photos and scan them and post them....
