I was going to reply to lllateralus in the Glove Box Dampener post, but I thought I should say hello to everyone and introduce a happy new CX-7 owner. Thanks for the reassurance lllateralus! We're very excited about the car.

We drove everything you can imagine searching for a replacement for the wifes 2000 Jeep Wrangler. She wanted more functionality without sacrificing all the fun. Not that the handling or performance of the Jeep can even be compared. We didnt really want a big SUV, and the Subaru Outback she fell in love with, was over $36k for the options we wanted. And dragging her away from the X3 we drove was painful. But after she drove the CX-7 she fell in love and said This is my car! So we thought it over for a few days and went back and bought it. We're very pleased with our decision. We drove through the back roads for about 150 miles today and it just begs for curves (which we have a severe shortage of in FL) and our smiles just get bigger with each mile. My wife says of everything we have driven over the past year trying to decide, this one definitely has the best "Giggle Factor". It suits her needs very well.

I havent seen another on the road yet, but Im thinking it will be similar to riding my motorcycle. A casual wave and a smile knowing what a fun ride we have.

With just a few hundred miles on it, no other issues to report than the glove box dampener. Ill update as the fun continues. Now what kind of Mazda do I want??

Oh, the CX-7
GT, FWD, White Pearl (nice looking paint job), Black Interior.
We didnt get the Tech Package, but we did get Moonroof / Bose / CD Changer (non-MP3 arrggh!) and Sirius.
Preferred Package #2, along with Remote Start, Homelink, Splash Guards, and the Towing Package (receiver and wiring).

Congrats and I have always said if you haven't driven a Mazda do so before you make your choice.....I have had several people switch over and go with Mazda!! Zoom, Zoom, giggle, giggle!! Pics please!!! No problem here with 1700 miles in a month!!
