What a steal! Someone buy this beast.
even though this car's clearly been beaten like a rented mule, it looks to be in pretty good condition inside and out. The exterior mods are tasteful (so you wouldn't feel like a jerkoff driving it around to work) and the engine mods... well...what can you say? this thing's a monster! (though, I agree that the engine bay desperately needs a cleaning.)
All I know is... if I was closer, I'd totally buy it. Even though I already have an MSP, I wouldn't care. It's such a steal I'd worry about why I have 3 cars some other time.

It needs some cleaning but the engine has been rebuilt and hasn't taken any new beating since...at least from what I know. I can't believe he dropped it so low. WHOEVER buys this IS getting a deal.

for example, just the easiest one for me to pull up. there are several bg's in the 9's, tons in the 10s, and s*** loads in the 11s. that is an old video, merely 11 flat. at the end he also races another 1g that runs an 11.7.

i am not being a smart ass. im just clarifying that this isnt the fastest protege by any stretch. its a great car, a fast car, but no where near the fastest protege. the older models arent that much lighter, but do have much better engines. they are still proteges however, and as such need to be recognized
I'm not going to pretend like I know what I'm talking about here so... let me ask a stupid question. Do you mean to tell me that this car is... reliable? I realize the engine's been rebuilt along with pretty much every other important part but... with the amount of abuse this thing has seen (and rightfully so! i mean, why cage a lion?) can would really expect to use this thing as a daily driver without feeling as if the car is going to breakdown? see, THAT's what would scare me the most. If I DID buy this car... I doubt I'd carry the legacy and race the s*** out of it like this guy. For me, it would be one hell of a daily driver... able to pretty much smoke anything. at the same time... if I felt as if there would be reliability issues down the road, I'd probably pass... even at this price.

Owen takes it to work and that's it. He is a pretty calm dude, I assume he RARELY smashes on it. As for reliability, what do you think you could possibly break if you leave everything the same? It's tuned for pump and race gas, tranny is strong enough tho hold 500+WHP. Unless you go and put like 87 in it and turn up the boost or mess with the tune or modify something you should be fine. I WISH I could buy it to take the tranny specially cause of that Quiffe LSD and the gears. Just the tranny alone is around $4K. That's what is driving me crazy.
