GI: SpeedCircuit Protege Turbo Kit

Been driving and tuning the car with the kit @15psi, it's quite impressive! So impressive, in fact, that the clutch slips after 5000rpm under heavy throttle.

While we're addressing the issues with this car and cleaning it up, we're going to be making a clone of this turbo kit.

If anyone who has a CLEAN, problem-free 2.0L manual Protege is interested in running this kit, please send me a PM.

You must be willing to drive to the shop for an install.

dyno it man, see what you've improved from last dyno since you had same turbo and other stuff anyways.

No can do, clutch is slipping like mad. :(

Well i can recommend you Dino to use ACT Xtreme Pressure Plate with Street Performance Disk or if you need something better, 6 Puck Sprung Racing Clutch, That combo will hold what ever you trow at it and is awesome for DD....

Yeah, ACT has always been one of the best. I think for my next clutch, I will go back to them possibly.

It's not a question of finding a clutch to hold the torque...it's the fact that it's a customer's car and he doesn't have funds to upgrade the clutch at the moment.

I'm not very familiar with the AEM FIC, but could i just run this kit with an MSP ecu to cover the fuctions of the setup and just let it be? I have an 03 LX sedan..fyi

If so, how safe would it be to run with the MSP ecu's stock boost setting? I'm planning to put this on my daily driver and enjoy the extra bit of power without worrying about my engine goin boom.

Thanks..PS the kit looks awesome!

I would personally suggest an FMU (to raise your fuel pressure with boost) over an MSP ECU if you're just looking to run 6psi or so.

That said, an MSP ECU will work, it just won't be a perfect tune.

Wow, looks really nice. Do you have a price list/spec sheet yet? Or still working out the details? Assuming this is designed for a built motor? Or can it be run on a stock engine?

I will have details within the next couple of weeks.

In it's default form, the kit will be designed to run anywhere from 6-20psi. So to answer your question, it will work great on both a stock motor and a built motor.

looking forward to finding out the final price. Once i've payed my car off (almost there :p) i'm gonna start saving up for this!

I know posted this earlier but... If i paired this kit up with the MSP ecu and the SSAFC, would this be a suitable form of engine management to run with this kit, controlling basic boost, sensor, and fuel needs? If not, would you have any suggestions on management units i could look into for future consideration? Sorry if i sound like a newb..

Minimum exhaust size . . .

It would work.
I have a naturally aspirated 2002 Protege ES that I will be upgraded (built motor) to go with your kit. I'm trying to do what I can, right now, to upgrade the vehicle. To that end, I'd like to upgrade my exhaust, but going with a full turbo exhaust or too large of an exhaust will probably not do good things for my engine's responsiveness while it is still N/A. I was considering the CorkSport 2.4" exhaust, but was wondering if installing that would introduce limitations once I go turbo with your kit. I'm looking to push about 325-350 whp.

Thoughts?
