I have not heard back from the Xmod designer i sent this link to yet... My guess would be that they want to make sure there is good intrest before this went into the design faze, but i will let you guys know as soon as i hear anything!


And thank you guys for showing intrest!! I hope to see 100(?) people intrested by the end of the week... I think that could definately show the Xmod folks that there is alot of intrest...

Hey man,

I hope you aren't confused by all the different requests that people are putting next to their names on the list. Basically, there are 3 variants of the protege, and I think that you could very easily replicate all 3 of them with simple changes in the bumper covers, side skirts, and spoiler... that is it. You could make a normal protege (dx/lx/es) for the starter kit, and then offer basically 2 different mild/wild kits (MP3/3.5MSP for one, and the hatchback P5 for the other) that would make it into all of the variants...

Extra kit 1: MP3 spoiler, front bumper and rear bumper... 03.5 MSP spoiler, front bumper and rear bumper.

Extra kit 2: Hatchback P5 kit that could maybe include 1 normal P5 hatch and one extreme hatch (maybe do this like in a CF finish like the wild/mild kit hoods and a extra molded wing or something)... along with the MP3 bumper. (this hatchback kit could maybe be bolted on where the spoiler is mounted on the starter kit).

You could also do a normal mild/wild kit and offer the normal type of extreme racer look that comes on the rest of the xmods as a third kit.

I think that all 3 of the above listed kits would sell, and there are a lot more people that are interested and either missed this GI thread or aren't on this message board.

thats great just hope it works out. but i dont think just adding a hatch to an existing protege would work since the rear is a little shorter, the lights are different, and a few other small differences.

Well, at this point i think that giving some options/opinion could be good... hopefully they could take some of our ideas and use them to make a quality Xmod...

Eh, if we get the hatchback made and you P5 guys don't want it just because of the headlights and sidemarkers, then sorry to say it, but your loss in my book. I think adding the MP3 front bumper and side skirts along with the hatch section would be close enough to make it worthwhile.

Agreed. They do the mild/wild body kits for the other cars, so this isn't too far fetched IMO.

The Sedan can have MP3 front, side and rears as mild.
Then you can throw a Wings West for Wild.

The P5 can also have the same as sedan for mild.

And a Mintblue for Wild.

I think as long as get either a sedan or wagon done it shouldnt matter. Im pretty sure one would follow the other.
