GI: CorkSport 'Power Series' Air Box for Cobb SRI...possible GB

Speaking with the CS guys, I asked about the possibility of making this for us. I know we've got a lot of members running this SRI setup, so if we could get a decent number together, it might be under consideration.

Here are pics of their unit for the CS SRI:

Benefits include cooler temps and preventing the hot engine air from feeding the intake tract. Here's the description from the CS website:

Constructed from high temp resistant FRP the Cold Air Box (CAB) is designed to get the most effective power from your CorkSport SRI intake system. By enclosing the air filter from the hot engine bay temperatures the efficiency of the SRI is increased resulting in more consistent power all of the time. You get colder, denser air like a cold air intake without the tradeoffs of your air filter low to the ground. The CAB also features and easy to remove lid for servicing the air filter (Picture). The CAB only works with the CorkSport Power Series Short Ram Intake (SRI) for the Mazdaspeed 6.

You won't restrict air right there, but you'll keep the hotter surrounding air from entering the filter. The box is FRP, which is temp. resistant enough for this application, and you will be getting fresh air from around the headlight area.

hmm... well if its not that expensive then i guess ill put myself down as a maybe.. sounds kinda interesting. Hope it fits my COBB SRI

This one would be designed specifically for the Cobb SRI, which fits differently than the CS SRI. Gotta read man! LOL.

Would be interesting if you could get the top cover made out of plexi glass, I've seen that on a few cars. Would looks cool, but would probably have to be cleaned once in a while.
