Ghost in the infotainment

:
Mazda CX 5 Touring
My 2019 infotainment system suddenly started changing songs I was playing from a thumb drive I had plugged in. It only lasted @30 seconds but I was surprised. I didn't get a chance to switch to the radio to see if it did it there also. Not too concerning but I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else?

Usually happens to me in hot weather. Your touchscreen is going bad.

If it's the touch function that's causing the mayhem you can disable it. There's lots of posts about disabling that functionality.

I have this ghosting problem as well on my 2020 CX-5. However, I changed my battery maybe 6 weeks back, and noticed that the problem went away for about a month. It eventually started ghosting again, but the other day I decided to disconnect my battery for a few hours, and boom, no more ghosting. I like being able to use my touchscreen when I’m stopped, so this solution is preferable to deactivating it entirely for me.

So tl;dr is, maybe try disconnecting your battery for at least 15 minutes, and see if this alleviates the problem temporarily.

This issue happens more likely to vehicles parked under the sun longer and more often.

I have four Mazdas (sold one recently). They spend/t most of their time in garage. This never happens to any of them. Oldest one I got is '14 Mazda3.
