Santa didn't bring me anything I wanted for my MSP this year so it looks like it is up to me. Come March I should have a little over $2000 to spend on her. As far as performance mods go I have a Injen CAI, PG intake mani, Turbohoses Hardpipes with a generic Greddy type S BOV, CustomMSP SMIC and AWR front and rear motor mounts. So I am thinking exhaust and EMS are my next steps. I want either the GHL or the Vibrant and I am asking for your opinions or advice. These are my thoughts on the two so far... The GHL is more expensive but it is a true turbo back with a lifetime warranty. The Vibrant would need a S pipe upgrade if I am not mistaken to make it a true turbo back. So I would need to find a S pipe and once you add the price of that in the total would be closer to the price of the GHL. And other than Corksport, I don't recall anyone selling just the S pipe and last time I looked on their site I didn't see it so it may not even be available any more. From what I have read both exhausts are pretty quiet but the GHL is the louder of the two, is this correct? And last, I would love to see if people have pics from the side of the car, I am trying to figure out if I like the slant cut of the GHL or the straight cut of the vibrant more. So help me decide which one should I get ladies and gentlemen and I thank you in advance for all your help.

I like the style of the vibrant, and I have heard that is not much of a gain from the S-Pipe upgrade, but the lifetime warranty is damn nice. All in all, they're both a good system, but if you're going for a true turbo back no matter what, get the GHL. If you're just looking to free up your exhaust, get the vibrant. No matter which one you get, you'll be happy with it, both are very good quality pieces.

ihave the vibrant system and love it. i dont think youd notice any gains if you got the vibrant then upgraded the s-pipe, ask velocifero im pretty sure he did that. and ohyea, it does have a slanted tip. best pic i could find for ya:

I'm surprised there would be no gains from the S-pipe replacement (was this dyno tested?). When I replaced mine looking at the stock one it appeared to be a pretty bad bottleneck.

As for the two options, I personally don't have any experience with either...if the S-pipe -really- doesn't add any gains, I'd go with the Vibrant and you could always get the S-pipe later from Corksport if you wanted to.

i thought i read a few ghl's have cracked?

but from my own experience, the vibrant is top notch quality. great price. amazing customer service. not ricer at all and sounds awesome. i get compliments all the time.

This is far from true. Around 2 years ago I watched 505zoom do a comparison. He had a 3" Magnus turboback. MAM and him did a 3" S-pipe upgrade and gained around 15whp in just the S-pipe.
I don't know why people keep saying there's no gains in the S-pipe.
It's still 2" and power is to be gained by upgrading.

i have the vibrant and wouldnt do it any other way. The install is easier, the hp gain is very noticeable and the money you save can be put into other mods. I dont think the true turbo back is necessary. Look at the unichip also for a possible ems. You wont be dissapointed.

GHL dp with a custom catback should do ya just fine. ~800-900 total.
Plenty left over for whatever EMS you choose.

The original design of GHL's dp didn't have a flex section. Now they do, now more breaking.

i run a GHL downpipe with 3"custom catback with RSR-GT muffler. Sounds awesome and the gains are very noticable in the higher rpms. However, I think the vibrant is also a great exhaust so it's a toss up.

I have the ghl turbo back exhaust on my car. Made a pretty decent gain. Never had it dynoed but I love the way it sounds and would have to say it was worth it. Just by looking at the ghl s pipe next to the stock s pipe I would have to say that the s pipe is by far the most restrictive point in the exhaust. It is TINY.

This [icture doesnt do it justice but you should get the point.

I went with the Ghl because I was looking for a "true" down pipe that included the s-pipe. It was the only available at the time besides Ion.

But then I said screw it...I'll just get the complete turboback because looking at my cat back, it wasn't very comforting to see that the pipe was a brown/rust color.

It's great quality and sounds awesome but if I were to do it again, I would of just changed the s-pipe and down pipe. The axle-back on the Ghl gave me some trouble...had to make alot of adjustements and also had to get some stoppers welded on each side of the exhaust hangers...as it would slide around hitting God knows what creating rattles that would make me regret the whole thing.

Everything is fine now, I love it....I just never thought about the dronnnnnnne that would be included with this thing. I'm Dynomating the floor of the car soon, hope it helps.

I would go with the GHL, I just took ti off my car for Dealership service and well it jsut takes time to install it that's the only hard thing.

I have my GHL Full dp for sale if your interested

Velocifero does have the Vibrant exhaust. It sounds amazing and he's really pleased with it. I don't know all the details of his exhaust, but PM him, he'd be happy to tell you about it I'm sure!

O persoannly want the Vibrant and plan to do some custom stuff to it. If not I'm gonna go custom since I may just be cheaper.

I have not seen the Vibrant offered with a slant tip anywhere. Where did you get that pic from?

Yeah, the money I would save by going with the Vibrant I would put towards the EMS but I am thinking DSMconverts SS AFC.
