Ghetto IC sprayer

I bought a used 20 0z. paintball Co2 tank for 10$. I bought a water (garden) hose valve complete with red knob from Home Depot. I then took the screw holding the actual valve part out and replaced with a longer screw, Then I cut the threads off where the hose would go on. I tapped the hole and installed a 5/16" steel line that I routed in front of the intercooler vertically. With 12 slits allowing the Co2 to spray and cover pretty much the whole intercooler. I'm sure this isn't the easiest way to do it, but I was bet that I could'nt build one for under 40$.

It's too cold for pics.

so where is the bottle mounted? and what connects the bottle to the water hose valve? and why did you change the smaller screw for a longer one.but sounds like what i want to do, I already have the bottle just need to set it up. and I can understand the whole its too cold thing. it was 14degrees today here in Kansas city.

My question would be, how long does one bottle last? How many squirts do you get?

If I wanted to embarrass some ricer that wanted to race me in his wittle Focus, do I just open the valve and blast the IC before the light turns green and keep it blasting until I can't see him anymore, or do I just give a quick squirt before the green light and then take off?

just spray it once before the light turns green. if you leave it spraying you could suck up the c02 in your intake and that wont help you at all.

Here is some pics of my current set-up. It's alittle bit different to allow more coverage of the intercooler.

You can see the longer screw cut down inside the valve which activates the schrader valve on the bottle.

Nope, It's not pretty at all. I usually get 3 runs out of the bottle.

so where did you get the tubing from. looks like brake/fuel lines. and i take it from that setup that you only hook it up, use it, then disconnect it. I get what you are saying about the screw.

i assume its brake lines like you mentioned. that's going to be my method of choice. it's easy to bend and rent a flaring tool (auto zone) and run to home depot and get some brass fittings and you're all set. oh and a drill to make tiny holes for the CO2 to come out (very important step) :)

yeah. The holes take some serious time, I suggest use of a drill press. Yes I use it before a run, then unhook it.
