Getting screwed by Mazda

i actually emailed NA mazda about the way i was treated and my scenario. i don't recall getting a letter back. my grandfather who used to be a local newsreporter here got all my info and was ready to call the BBB. but i just wanted my car fixed. i ended up taking it to a shop i can trust. my moms mechanic for 15 years. he replaced the damaged casing and mount. both cv axles, and basically did a rebuild on the tranny. all for $1400. **** mazda and their $5600.

Wow sorry, that is s***. My issues worked out with them. Should have called bbb, they can put a thorn in dealerships paw.

yeah i should've gone through with it. oh well. 2 1/2 years later and i'm still here. and still modding the crap out of the mazda with no issues and i'm still lovin it. (werd)

as to the dealership saying your warranty is void cause you cant show proof of your own oil changes, I had the exact same issue with my P5. I spun a rod bearing and they said since I didn't have the oil changed at shop and have the paper work to prove it I was out of luck!!!
I always bought my oil and filters from the same auto parts store, so I went to them we sat down and went back over 2yrs of transactions under my card
running the filter part # to show proof of purchase and printed them off.
The next day I went back to the dealership sat down with the service manager and gave her the "proof". I walked out with them shipping me a new long block from Japan under warranty!!!
I would go back to your auto parts store and see if they would do the same for you.

That still makes no sense regarding proof.

I can show a receipt for a piece of paper that shows I bought 6 quarts of oil and a filter for my car... but does that ACTUALLY mean I used it to change the oil in time? Not really..... there's no way to prove I actually changed the oil at all or on time, only that I purchased "supplies"

Trust me when a dealer says something like that they are just trying to screw you out of a warranty and force you to pay money repairs to them so they can ram you in the ass with a jagged edged wood handle.

That's the exact reason I took my GF's 6 to another dealer... cause the first one Gunther the tech was a retard and said the thermostat housing was broken and blah blah blah... and it would be just over $500 to fix.

Took it to another dealer Lehman.... and they said the housing was FINE, and it cost me just under $100 to fix, and that was about maybe 4 5 months ago... if the thermostat housing was really cracked her car would have leaked out by now.

I think the tech just saw that it had coolant sprayed all over and just "assumed" it was broken too.

He even had the nerve to say there might be damage to the manifold (or something) saying the car was driven without it, and that's when I knew he was a moron because the car wasn't driven, we found it in the driveway with all the coolant leaking out, and had it towed to dealer.

Another bad story but i am glad it turned out well. These are stories that come from owners of all makes, I believe it is one of those things folks will have to pursue till they get a good response. speedracer took it up a notch and maybe when the service guy realized he was Serious his tune changed a bit? And Koenig looked elsewhere with success. nice work gentlemen

Definitely, I will always try to get a 2nd opinion, or speak to a different person.

I really hate all these service techs that talk s***, like the one saying the guy was racing his car because he had an exhaust on it?

Since when does that signify racing? A lot of people just want the car to sound better/meaner.

LOL... exactly, I have friends with STOCK cars that beat the s*** out of them and run them into the ground... "modding" has nothing to do with it, and definitely does not indicate "racing"
