Getting my deposit back

I just got off the phone with my dealer and I am getting my 1000.00 depoist back. He told me that it would be Jan. or later before the MSP is released. I have had my deposit down since Sep. and I want it back so I can use it instead of it just sitting there doing me no good. He told me that he would call me when he gets one and and I will still have first chance at it if I want to wait that long. I think that I will either wait for the 2003.5 MSP when the get all the bugs worked out or just get a different car now. He is putting in a check request today and I should have my deposit in a couple of days. Good luck everyone else.

I've got my doubts it's going to be January. I figure within the next 2 weeks they'll ship. Everything that I have seen points to the first or 2nd week of Dec.

There isn't going to be a 2003.5 MSP.
In fact i believe the total redesing of the car has already begun and next year will be the proteges last before it becomes the 3

I agree completely. I can't afford much more than the $20K and this is best I can get for the money. The longer it takes the better, financially, but I really would like to have it now.

Seems like the 2003.5 will be the same as the 2003 MSP, what the hell is the point of calling it limited, they shuld just be producing the thing as an option at this point.

It will have different air dams and spoiler, and be available in different colors. The pedals and shifter are not Sparco pieces, they're Mazdaspeed pieces and it's lacking fog lights. It's very similar, but not the same, and most people agree it doesn't look as good. Remember, the Protege replacement (Mazda 3) will be here for 2004, so these will be the last of the Protege. Of course, the orange and black 2003 MSPs will be known as the "first" Mazdaspeed vehicle in North America, so if the Mazdaspeed brand takes off, that could be worth something (money-wise and recognition-wise.)
