Getting my COBB SRI today YEAY

4.5" conical amsoil filter.

is this a PowerCore filter? what kind of filter is it?? i looked and looked on their site before and didn't see anything applicable.

if you have a part number of pics that would be great!

EDIT: doh!!!!! wtf. here- http://www.amsoil.com/StoreFront/eaau.aspx

i'll tell you what, they don't make that easy to find on their regular site, atleast it wasn't for me previously.

so i assume you have part number eaAU4560.

Yea, thats the part number. I had a hard time finding it at first too. The diameter size of 4.5" is the same as COBB's filter, however the Amsoil length, just eye-balling it, looked about 2" longer. After looking at some install pics of the COBB intake, I felt like there was enough clearance to fit this filter, and there was. The filter also clears the hood when closed, which I was skeptical about at first. I could post a pic tonight if I remember. Also, their directions for cleaning the filter are either to vacuum the outside without overbearing force, or blow air from the inside out (20-30psi from an air compressor would do, nothing too crazy). No special cleaning solution, no soap or water apparently...and most important to me...no oiling! (2thumbs)

Here it is installed.

Damn road salt! I guess you've got the same situation in Jersey too.

Wow, you know if I were Cobb, I'd just partner up with Amsoil on this one. That filter looks great, and being a dryflow, there will be no question about MAF contamination (by user or fresh out of the package!)

I'd also love to see Cobb offer their product sans filter, for a few bucks less.

can you post a link to where you got that filter from or was it from the link above. Curios the pic.'s on AMSoil's site shows the filters gold top with a white filter. your's are blue and looks just like the cobb which i like but alittle bigger. help me get one of them post a link to where you got your from thanks. OH anyone running a HKS full recirc with a COBB SRI. i got my HKS BOV a while ago but i don't want to put it on till i get the recirc adapter which i should be able to order next week.

just wondering how loud it will be in full recirc. compared to when i had it on my SRT4 and it was crazy loud. i got the new version HKS SSQ with the fins on the side i bought it the day it was released i put in on my SRT4 back then and my buddy has the older style HKS SSQ with the smooth chrome body and i swear there's not suppose to be a difference between the two i talked to HKS they said it's basicly the same BOV they just made it look alittle different on the outside because of all the knock offs that were coming out but mine was seriously alot louder. we'll see.

(remove 2 spaces in that link)

Part Number EAAU4560-EA.

I ordered direct from Amsoil. Also, I didn't mention, and it can't be depicted in my previous pics, that the "end" of the filter is not capped off as most air filters are. There are more filter fins directed inward pointing towards the back of the filter. And inside of the filter, the black molding is shaped so that it comes to a point (like a cone) behind these additional fins so that it appears to act as an air foil to further direct the flow. It seems like a good combination with COBB's flow straighteners after the filter device. Its pretty neat as I can relate to both of these devices (air foils & flow straigheners) at work being used on industrial boilers in their flues and ducts.

Back on topic, if you click on the description link found on the page listed above you'll get a better idea of the capless filter ends. Hope this helps.

Where can I buy this cobb sri intake...which website is most reliable and cheap. I just bought my speed and I'm looking for this intake, have heard nothin but good things about it. I'm also new to this forum brothers!!! Thanks!!!

i'll be selling my cobb intake in a couple days for about $160 shipped if you want it just send me a PM. only has about a months worth of driving on it and it is in perfect shape.

I just ordered my cobb yesterday too! SU just got a shipment of 40 so if anyone needs one now is the time! I also ordered the Amsoil filter so I won't ever have to worry about over oiling it. I liked my dry flow filter in my last car so I will be happy with it. My cs inserts and twm bushings should also be here any day now! Yeah for first mods!

Wow, 6 months old thread bumped, and here I was excited that they were available again.. way to shatter my hopes and dreams =(

P.S. If anyone does have any hook ups or know where they can be found.. I've had no luck and it would be appreciated.

They are backordered everywhere and I mean everywhere. They said 6-8 weeks and its been a really slow 3 weeks so far. Only 4-5 more weeks and then HOPEFULLY we'll be able to get our hands on some.
