General Exclaim UHP tires...All seasons or Not???

General Tire states them as All season tires. Tire Rack has them as a Summer tire. Does anyone have any experience on their All Season capabilities? Looking for an all season tire...thanks...

These are All-Season tires. They are clearly marked with M&S on the sidewall. TireRack is wrong. I think they entered them under Summer, because they are such crappy All-Season's.
If you want a half decent All-Season tire that is cheaper, look at the Falken ZE-912's.

yes, i've looked at the falken 912's and I actually have a set on my b13 SE-R and had a set on my G20. Excellent tire, no problems to report with those at all, just wanted to try some different, something a little more "performance" oriented yet has a little all season capability....the 912's seem to be more of a UHP "touring" tire, IMO and for the price you cannot beat...just wanted some feedback on the Generals all season capabilities considering Tire Rack has labeled them as summer tires....

Guess it depnds on the size too, what size were you looking at getting?

no one has any experience with these in the winter (freezing temps/snow/slush)?

They are somewhat ok for winter driving. Don't expect much traction. The higher performance all-season tires will give the worse snow traction. I wouldn't want to be using them on anything more than light snow.

This explains things rather succinctly, if you ask me (from www.tirerack.com):

The TireRack said:
While meeting minimum tread design standards to be "M+S" branded, the Exclaim UHP is designed to provide high levels of traction, response and control in dry conditions, along with superior hydroplaning resistance in wet conditions. We do not suggest Exclaim UHP tires be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

I find TireRack's recommendations to be rather reliable, all-in-all...
