Gb: Awr deep sump oil pan

Just a reminder to everyone,

DO NOT USE THE PICKUP SPACER that's supplied with the pan. It smooshes the pickup too far into the pan and actually restricts oil flow, and is not needed. Beyond me why AWR even includes it.

WTF I have been running the spacer for over a year now. Why is it in there... I guess I can pull it out when I send my pan to AWR to get an oil return bung welded in

Look at how smooshed your pickup screen is when you take the pan off. With the tube itself only 1/4" off the bottom of the pan you'll see why it's ill advised to run it.

Why get AWR to weld on a bung for you? I just made a return line block out of aluminum and bolted it on. Gives the fitting WAY more threads to bite into, and looks nicer too. Nor will it ever leak.

Drill out the pan. Fabricate aluminum block to accept -10AN return fitting. Note how much thread engagement is now provided. Run through bolts to tapped backplate on the inside of the pan, seal both sides of the block with UltraGrey.

This is WAY overkill, but anyone who has seen my build knows there is no such thing for me.

Would having this pan be sufficient enough of oil to solve the issue of oil starvation in our motors or is the combination of the Doc B system a must, regardless?

Make it. Aluminum stock is pretty cheap these days.

Scrap aluminum is easy to find. You'll need a vice, drill, a grinder, and a tap and die set. Really it's not complicated.
