I know people are gonna call me a pussie for this... but we just had a coldfront come in, 28 degrees with tons of wind and ice rain....

i dunno how you yankees deal with it being cold, i can't stand it!!! I'll take 110+ degrees ANYDAY, no question. I guess you guys are just more ready for it than we are. Cuz of the ice, there's talk of closing the univirsity for finals tomorrow morning. Crazy stuff.....
 
:rolleyes: It didn't get above 8 degrees F here in over 2 days. Today was in the teens finally though.(thumb)
 
lol - jmv i got pics of my car iced!!!! i never seen it before and i was driving up from SA and 35 was iced over. bad road conditions......
 
it is 2 weeks before the official start of winter, and it is currently 11 degrees below freezing here

the left-wingers on NPR weren't talking about the hoax of global-warming today
 
I had a final tonight at RRHEC. They didn't close that place and there was black ice in the parking lot when I got out around 6:45pm.

Check the web site for the school - they are still planning to have exams tomorrow. They did have a comment page up earlier, but took it down after too many people complained about having to walk up and down the hills on campus when it's iced over.

My comment on that page related that I was very upset that the university decided to put peoples lives in danger by ignoring the weather forecasts and holding exams. Not to mention that they didn't put down any sand or salt in the parking lot.

In all I'm glad I won't have to deal with that stupidity much longer. I graduate next Friday. Wahooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!

P.S. I'm a Yankee by birth. I'll take 28 degrees any day over 110F.

yep been kinda chilly outside, they started flooding the park across the street for the ice skating rink

im still wearing shorts though:)
 
Yea I heard the ice was getting a little crazy up there. I was over at Northridge and couldn't believe how quick the rain would freeze to my windshield.
 
No wonder Yankees are so mean and f00kin cold-hearted. :D That's why I've only lived in Hotlanta, similar North Carolina piedmont, similar humid Japan, Tampa Florida, and now Nevada... dry. Feel bad for you Yankees... and I'm not thinking 2X about buying a motorcycle in December. Not too cold here. lol.
 
It's 19 degrees right now here in Dallas. Heater in the car works. Roads are all iced over. I got into work a little while ago...(yep...2a). I'm glad I won't have to deal with the morning commute, that is going to be fun. Most roads are completely iced over, just enough ice to make a skating rink out if it all. I was driving very slowly...Good luck to those who have to drive in this morning...
 
please, you think that is bad. I have to work outdoors today and it is only 73* right now. There is only a high of 79*.
So to all you guys in the cold I say (hah)(hah).

B/C I love it down in the warmth of South Florida. (first)
 
and to make it worse, i can't turn on the heater in my dorm.... the 3 different times i've tried, its made that burning smell so bad it fills up the whole floor, and the fire alarm goes off....
