Gas trunk props

I wanted to check with the other MS6 owners to see if they are experiencing the same thing. I remember when I first bought my car that while opening the trunk I could lift it about half way and the gas props would slowly take it the rest of the way. Now when I lift it, it stays where ever I let go of the trunk. Does anyone else remember it working this way or is anyone experiencing the same thing? I took it to the dealer and they said that this is normal.

Mine has always stayed where I open it to. It never finshed opening for me LOL

Mine will fly up unless I hold on to it.

Mine stays. ...and if I pull down quickly using the inner handle it will close completely w/o me having to finish pushing down once the trunk is 3/4 closed.

If I close my lid too hard the plastic handle falls out inside the trunk.
