gas tank size

Just wondering why Mazda stuck a smaller gas tank with the 2.0L? Why not the bigger size for all 3 models?

2.3 ms3 takes about 13 gallons i think,,

I'm sure it was designed with minimal weight in mind first and foremost.

I often get confused as to why the first gen ms3 didn't come with a low washer fluid warning light like other 3 models
