There's been many reports of people having the gas stolen from their tanks with the perps drilling a hole in the tanks and draining using this method. I wouldn't recommend it but, hey, that's just me.

Makes zero sense to me. The guys doing this would not know how much gas is in the tank, for starters. Why risk getting caught for what might be only $10 worth of gas? Stupid.

No one has accused these idiots of being criminal masterminds. If one tank only has $10 worth of gas, there's always another tank nearby that has more.

Aside from the risk of getting caught, by a LEO or an irate car owner with a gun, there's the risk of blowing yourself up or catching yourself on fire. Also, the gas that gushes out after the hole is made in the tank can't be too good on your drill. Of course, the drill is probably stolen so...

I would get some J-B Weld putty epoxy. Fixed in minutes and should never come off.
