Gas prices...OUCH!

$1.31/litre in Vancouver. That's $5 US per gallon.

No wonder smaller cars are more popular in Canada.

I remember in the mid-90s, that SUVs were the vehicles rich people got when they didn't want to buy a luxury car. I give it 3 years at prices like this and that will be true again.

Every dime gas goes up, my Mazda5 depreciates less. (alright)

Yah in 97 or 98 or something, Arco came to BC, Canada to start crap. 33 cent a litre gas... When gas in Washington State was about $1.10 a gallon or 46 cent a litre Canadian. The rare period when gas in Vancouver was actually cheaper. Unfortunately for Arco, they didn't know that if one gas sells for so and so cents a litre, EVERYONE sells for the same price, so they never gained much ground out here and eventually left the market 10 years later. No more Arco yay lol. Anyway yea it started an SUV craze here as well.

Anyway, I bought 52.6L or 13.9 gallons of gas tonight. $66.81.

Naw, you just sound single, w/a good job. The other end of the spectrum is married w/4 (good) kids and a job where you earn less than you're worth. Then $3.15/gal may seem like a great deal to those of you in the rest of the US, but its plain sucky to put $50 in your car when you are used to $40 (and can remember $17)

Add another thing to complaint about. I when to fill up last night and noticed one of the tire looked a little low. So I when to the air pump to fill my tire and it is a paid pump, requiring $.50. You figure the oil companies are making enough profit and not nickle and dime their customers.

I use the middle gas and I paid $3.55 it took about $56 to fill up!

Im paying $3.60 for regular in Boca Raton we have the highest gas prices in the entire palm beach county

$3.75 in Des Plaines, IL and over $4 in the city of Chicago. Last time I saw gas was at .99 cents a gallon I didn't have kids, my son is turning 16 in May, guess I'm getting old.

I found an old receipt when I was cleaning out my old Sunfire to sell it a few months back. It was from 2002 and I was paying 35cents a litre. Makes this 1.16/L hurt.

35 cents in 2002?? Darn you Manitobans. lol. The cheapest I've ever paid for gas since I got my second car in 2001 (my first car didn't count, my second car is the first one I bought for myself near the end of high school), was 53 cents a litre. I remember it was down to 33 cents a litre in 97 or 98.

I remember when gas was $.05/gal back in the early 70's during the gas wars. $.25/gal was the norm back then as well.

I just wanted to fill $10 last night, I got just a tad less than 7.5L or just a tad less than 2 American gallons of gas.

We got close to 600km on our last full tank. When I filled up, we pulled up to a pump that a Dodge Journey had just used. Their pump read 75 litres (at $1.20/l = $90). I was happy to fill up my tank with 53 litres, and carry on. I am finding the fuel economy with our 5 to be on par with our 2001 Protege LX 2.0l (the only automatic we have ever owned). I would have to dig out the record, but I really think we are not far off from what we used to get in our 1994 Protege SE (1.8l SOHC 5-speed).

I am not liking the current gas prices, but they certainly reinforce our decision to buy the 5 over the other choices we had.

Some places here in Lexington are around $3.55/gallon, but others hit $3.80 today. I'm sure they'll all be up there tomorrow. My Civic requires 93 octane so I'll be paying over $4.00/gallon next fillup.

I will have to drive 2 miles and wait in line to get $4.15 per gallon at a local ARCO. My regular place is at $4.25 now.
