Gas Mileage for 2011 Mazda3?

I was talking to someone today about their 2011 Mazda 3 and they were complaining about getting 600km to a tank -- saying the mileage was okay but not great. It raised concerns to me about my 2011 Mazda which I seem to only get about 400km to a tank unless I'm doing a highway trip of some kind. I hadn't worried about it before because I knew Mazda was about performance and I chose a 2011 over the new 2012 skyactiv simply because I wasn't comfortable buying a car with a brand new never used before engine in it as they tend to have growing pain problems.

Anyway, I am just wondering if 400km to a tank is relatively average for city driving with a 2011 Mazda 3 or should I talk to my dealer about it?

Should we assume 2.0 engine?
What is your hwy/city split?
I average 30mpg city driving only with no A/C in a 2012 MAZDA3 i Touring 5-Door SKYACTIV-G.

I drive probably 85% city 15% highway on a tank of gas. Relatively short trips back and forth to work each day. I use the A/C often but even in the winter my gas mileage was about the same.

I don't have the SkyActiv but I used to have a 2002 Protege before my Mazda3 GS and I was clearing 550km per tank doing the same driving.

I have a 2.0 Mazda 3 with no skyactiv, and I average about 28mpg mostly city driving. It gets better as the mileage gets higher, but I still only have 2015 miles on it. It cost me about 37 to fill up which is better than I am use to.

I got 2011 Mazda 3 gx and I 430km when fuel light turns on and keep in mind it -25 and I let my car warm up 5mins every morning before I go to work
